Fokus17
All rejected again. Where should I go from here? Should I consider 3*? Link to comment
thereuare
I would wait a couple of weeks before lowering to a 3* property, but it is up to you depending upon how important the star rating is to you vs. having this 'done'. Fokus17
Do you know of a back up reservation I could make that I could cancell? Link to comment
thereuare
I would go with the Beekman Tower Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Fokus17
I booked the Beekman through EasyClickTravel. When do you think I should try and bid again? Do you think i sould stick with the Beekan before i switched to 3 star? Link to comment
thereuare
The Beekman has a great repuation so (for me) i would need to save substantially to bid for a 3* on Priceline.I would continue to try for a 4* on Priceline up until a couple of weeks before your stay, assuming you're happy enough with the price of the Beekman if you need to use it. The Beekman is a short walk to the subway (under 10 minutes... 'far' by NYC standards) so it's not as convenient as other 'heart of midtown' locations, but the added space of a true suite and a kitchen, as well as the great reviews, would make this property my preference. I might think otherwise if your stay was in December-February since it's cold and walking 10 minutes would be more inconvenient, but in mid-June i'd be more than fine with it. Fokus17
Ok i have had no luck with my priceline biddding so i will give hotwire a try. I looked for my dates and this is what I am interested in. 3* Midtown CentralAmmenities include Restaurant, Fitness center, and Business center. Price is $191 Link to comment
thereuare
Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. As per the HOTWIRE HOTEL LIST this is a match for the Hudon Hotel. If correct, the reviews are not very good and you would better served with your Beekman reservation. Fokus17
Did you mean Hudson? or Hudon? I cannot find any information on the Hudon Link to comment
thereuare
If you looked in the link provided above you'd see that this is a match for the Hudson hotel:3* Hudson Hotel (previously 3.5*) Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness, Businessand that the above is a typo. Fokus17
Well I have been bidding for the past few weeks all the way to $210. Should I give up or keep trying? I am fine with the Beekman, but really would like a 4* since I am proposing to my girlfriend. Any suggestions? Link to comment
light_travel
I have two words of advice, and if you have read my thread for NYC you Link to comment
thereuare
Since you have a good back-up i would just be patient and continue to try as your check-in date continues to get closer something may open up.If you do end up at the Beekman, the restaurant there supposedly (i've never been) has some great views... from what i've read go for drinks but go elsewhere for food. :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Fokus17
Well I have been trying priceline for weeks. Still nothing. Today as i went to bid i noticed that the prices for all of the zones had jumped about $50. I dont think I have any chance so i am probably going to give up. On a better note. I got a deal through travelzoo for the Shelburne Murray Hill. It is basically the same as Beekman, but I think it might be a little nicer. I cancelled Beekman and went with Shelburne. Hopefully this was a good choice. So i guess i am ending this thread unless anyone has some more info. Thanks for everything Link to comment
