AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. A guess in this case would be the Public. I'm very familiar with the city and would be happy to offer suggestions on hotels if you let us know more about what you are looking for. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Atultaneja
Thanks AaronJB, but I see some previous posts about Public as a guess. In this case it got my attention since it says "new to hotwire". What do you think? Tks! Link to comment
AaronJB
"New To HOTWIRE" has been seen before when there is a change in star rating or amenity set. There's always the risk that it can be something else not yet reported, but my guess remains the Public. Are you looking for something in particular in terms of hotel (star rating/budget/area?) Atultaneja
yeah that makes sense, thanks a bunch I am looking for a 3+ star at magnificent mile or the loop area, below a total of $800 for 5 days Link to comment
AaronJB
Unfortunately, the RSNA show is going on during these dates. I was wondering why in the world rates are what they are during this period (which is otherwise usually a fairly slow time.) The cheapest rate that I'm seeing is the listing above. Otherwise, the next cheapest 4* on HOTWIRE is $226 and 4.5* on PRICELINE EXPRESS is $193. There's not a cheaper listing downtown on either service than the $123 (which - with tax is around $820.) The next cheapest hotel North of the river is a 2* for $153 on HOTWIRE Given the demand for these dates and how much cheaper the $123 is than other options, I think it will probably go fairly quick. I'd guess the Public, but even if not, still a 4/5 tripadvisor rating on the detail page for the listing. Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if we can be of further assistance. thereuare
What did you decide to do for this trip (not just what you didn't do) Did you cancel the trip, book a regular rate hotel (where and how much), etc? Atultaneja
OK, that's fair. I stayed at Marriott Magnificent Mile, booked via PRICELINE for U$102/night, after seeing someone else bidding win post. Link to comment
