Orenpa
How long before traveling to Las Vegas should i search in HOTWIRE or PRICELINE? Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! For a general answer see the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ. However, a lot also depends upon your travel dates... are you going during low season/high season? Are there conventions taking place during your trip that may make hotels expensive and/or sell-out? Are you hoping for a specific hotel and/or have certain needs (must have a casino, be directly on the strip, etc) OR just how flexible are you willing to be? Do you have firm travel plans at this time? If so, what are your travel dates, desired star rating, zone, expected budget (per nite before taxes/fess) and do you have any particular needs or specific hotel(s) you're hoping to win? thereuare
There are a few small/moderate sized conventions which on their own would have little effect, but collectively have the potential to effect hotel rates: 10/15-10/18 12K 10/18-10/20 10K 10/18-10/21 14K 10/21-10/23 14K For the HOTWIRE offer above I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you search using the EASY VIEW TAB of our BiddingHelper.com tool. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities (including any accessible amenities) then what you have listed above? Using this method, below is the full list of amenities i'm seeing for the 5 star hotel in this zone when searching for your dates: Free Parking Free Internet Suite Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower ... if this is what you're seeing, the Vdara would be my best guess for this one Any interest in this property or is the Aria the only acceptable hotel for this trip? Orenpa
Hello, looking for hotel to the above period of time. The only but is no VADRA and no TRUMP. Which site I should use - Priceline or Hotwire? When? Which strategy is better for me? MUST: 5* hotel on the strip without the above two hotels that I mentioned. Any advice will be grate. First time to use these sites. Thanks. Link to comment
thereuare
Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Once you win a hotel, use the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the upper right corner of the page to edit the topic title to reflect your win and to provide the details of your purchase. This helps keep the board better organized by reducing the number of unresolved threads that don't have any follow-up or conclusion. I'm seeing this 5* Strip South hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $231/nite with: Business Center Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Casino Fitness Center --> best guess here would be The Cosmo Any interest in this property? Orenpa
It could be a nice option. In relation to regular price how much do i save? (only estimate). Did you saw it on HOTWIRE or PRICELINE? Link to comment
thereuare
If you re-read my post: Quote I'm seeing this 5* Strip South hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page)... Which has a link that will take you to the offer. However, i also just found a sale using the following link for the BELLAGIO HOTEL and CASINO which is $228/nite for your dates... cheaper than the one above and is refundable up until 3 days before your arrival (confirm cancel terms during the checkout process). This would allow you to have a very good hotel at the same price as an 'opaque' deal while giving you the flexibility to cancel and re-book something different should a better offer come along in the next 5 months. Does this work for you? Orenpa
Ok. Thanks. I was in the Belagio in my last stay so I prefer to try other hotel. Due to the fact i will travel only in October i think I will wait around a month until I will make the reservation. Thanks again!. Link to comment
thereuare
If in a month all other 5* hotels are $300+ but the Bellagio is $225/nite... would the Bellagio then be acceptable? If yes, this is why you book the THE BELLAGIO now at the refundable rate as it protects you from rates moving higher while giving you the flexibility to cancel if/when something better comes along; you literally have nothing to lose but something to gain. Orenpa
My limit is 300$ per night. The hotels i prefer are: Aria, Venetian, Wynn. As i mentioned i will wait for a month and will check then. Thanks. Link to comment
thereuare
I think you're missing the point... In a month (or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 months) what if all 5 star hotels are $400+... would you a that point take the Bellagio for $225/nite? If so, at that point the Bellagio may also be $400+, but by purchasing a fully refundable rate today you're able to ensure a price within your budget while you wait for something better to come along. Maybe prices only go down from here, nobody can say, but i've just seen it too many times where the 'back-up' hotel that people are using as a safety net suddenly disappears at the same time all the PRICELINE EXPRESS / HOTWIRE offers jump in price (which is why we created our sister site RefundableRates.com). Booking a fully refundable hotel as a back-up now can't hurt... but it could help. If not the Bellagio, then choose from the refundable rates at the Aria or Cosmopolitan (confirm dates on any landing pages from these links), both of which also have refundable rates within your budget.
