shaiee280
I need your help and guidance in making my reservation for NYC hotel. I am attending a training course for 10 days at New York Marriott East Side and would like to stay near by the hotel or the Times Square. The traveling dates are 30/8 - 4/9.Star level 3.5+ Zones:Midtown East Times Square - Theatre District Budget is $170 including taxTwin Room is preferred! Please tell me the best strategy to win a hotel. Should I split the period (30/8 to 4/9) into two? any suggestions of a good express deal? is my budget realistic ? Thank you Abs Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)We'll use this thread for 8/30-9/4. Please start a new thread for the additional person and we would be happy to also research those dates. For these dates, I think $170 including taxes/fees is going to be a little difficult but you may be able to get something at the top end of that. Would the ESB area also be acceptable? shaiee280
Thanks for the quick reply. ESB is wide area and I am afraid to end up far from my interest points. However, if I m willing to consider specific hotel. What would you recommend for budget? Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
As far as your budget, i think it will greatly depend upon how flexible you are in regards to zone(s). On HOTWIRE i'm seeing what looks like the Belvedere Hotel for $170/nite (before taxes/fees) which would be a very straight 15-20 minute walk to the Marriott East Side... would this work for your needs? shaiee280
Im thinking 5 day is long and it best to be split into two:Aug 30 to Sep 1 "low prices in MTE"Sep 1 to Sep 4 " low prices in TMS"What do you think? I never used Hotwire before but, following your reply,I checked Hotwire deals and found the following deals. For Aug 30 to Sep 1: 4* hotel in the MTE zone for $146/night with:BoutiqueFitnessRestaurantBusinessHi-Speed InternetBlind AccessibleDeaf AccessibleTravel AccessibleRoom Accessible Can you guess the hotel? Can I book Twin room? For Sep 1 to Sep 4:3* hotel in the TMS zone for $145/night with:FitnessRestaurantBusinessHi-Speed Internet Can you guess the hotel? Can I book Twin room? Link to comment
yellowdog
Can you guess the hotel? For both hotels. I believe there may have been more amenities than you listed in your post. HOTWIRE has a new interface which is not currently showing the complete set of amenities at the usual point of the search process. Please run a new search using our BiddingHelper.com tool at the top of this page. Once the search is completed, use the EASY VIEW TAB and click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing to view the complete set of amenities. Then copy and paste the amenities, as well as the price, in a reply to this thread and we will then have a look at this offer. Can I book Twin room?HOTWIRE guarantees sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (up to 4 guests)... this often means two beds in the room, but the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc. Im thinking 5 day is long and it best to be split into twoWe'll use this topic for or Aug 30 to Sep 1. Please start a new topic for Sep 1 to Sep 4 How many will sleep in the room? You need to search for a minimum of 3 guests to be guaranteed some kind of "separate" bedding. How many guests did you include in your search. You need to include all guests when searching. thereuare
Im thinking 5 day is long and it best to be split into two: Aug 30 to Sep 1 "low prices in MTE" Sep 1 to Sep 4 " low prices in TMS" I don't think you're comparing apples-to-apples since your original full date range search was for a 3.5* hotel... but now are considering a 3* hotel for the second date range above. The 3* hotel (i think TMS is for Times Square??) above for 9/1-9/4 is priced at $145/nite... but if you search for your complete date range of 8/30-9/4 there is a 3* hotel in the Times Square zone for $136/nite: Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet ... best guess here would be The Edison Hotel. I will add that i also think this 3 star Times Square (confirm your dates on the landing page) hotel on PRICELINE EXPRESS is also The Edison, but is a little cheaper at $132/nite. Would a 3* hotel be acceptable for the complete stay so that you don't have to change hotels mid-trip... or do you prefer the inconvenience of changing hotels in exchange for a higher rated hotel for the first nites of your stay? shaiee280
I don't think you're comparing apples-to-apples... I think you are right, my comparison was wrong. I prefer single 3.5 or 4 stars hotel with an acceptable price I'm also willing to compromise in exchange for higher rated or/and lower prices. What would you suggest as bidding strategy? do you recommend any express deals for a good hotel? btw: TMS: yes it is Time Square. Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
What is your maximum bid price? (before taxes/fees) Note that at the 4* level in the MTE is the One UN New York which is a bit far east (walkable to the Ramada East Side but a bit out of the way for getting around the city if you'll be doing any of that while not attending your conference)... would this be acceptable? ... I'm also willing to compromise in exchange for higher rated or/and lower prices.Do you mean by SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID? Keep in mind that it also appears that you'll be staying outside of the city 9/4-9/6, so this would be a lot of moving around (imo): 8/30-9/1 9/1-9/4 9/4-9/6 9/6-?? ... this is acceptable?
