tweatherup
Hello, First time using BetterBidding! Need help identifying a property in NYC-Midtown Central. Details below: Travel dates: Aug 26-31/2015 Hotwire Hot Rate/Median Published Rate:250/881 Hotwire/Trip Advisor Rating: 5*/4.5* Amenities Include: FREE internetBusiness centerpet friendlySelf-service laundryRestaurantFitness Center I've been eyeing midtown properties for the last few months and have seen deals similar (not quite this good) come up often. Sometimes Hotwire says "last person booked got...' and Ive seen them say 'Sofitel, Westhouse, The Quin, and just one time, The Peninsula (that would be amazing). Any confident guess would help. Im travelling with my dogs and would like to know in advance if there are any weight restrictions. Thanks for your help!!!!! Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. The "last person got..." note is not necessarily the underlying hotel, it is the last hotel that someone won at that star rating in that zone. If you click on the listing, then click "book now", then "see all amenities", do you also see internet in addition to free internet? If so, this amenity set has been seen with the Sofitel, so that would be my guess. Please keep us updated on what you decide and let us know if you have additional questions. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Link to comment
tweatherup
Thanks for the quick reply, It does say 'Internet Access' as well as 'free internet' on the amenities list on the booking page.... Unfortunately I don't think this is a good enough deal to proceed. Sofitel looks a little dated and I see their published rate is only a few dollars more through their own website. In your experience, do you see other properties coming up in the 5 star category in Midtown? Browsing through previous posts I see a lot of people getting Westhouse or Sofitel. I'm more of a Plaza or Peninsula kind of guy (not rack rate, of course). Thanks again for the help! I will be sure to come back if I see another seemingly good deal come up! Link to comment

tweatherup
Thanks for your help in identifying the hotel. Ultimately I was turned off by the chance of getting the Sofitel. I have since changed my travel dates and will likely be asking for help on a different property! Link to comment
