Ajasmineflower
I just checked both Hot.wire Hot Rates and PRICELINE EXPRESS through Bidding.helper.com Price.line has a 5* for $416 and HOTWIRE has 5* for $302 How can there be such a difference? I am 99.9% sure that its The Conrad for both websites since FD only has 2 hotels that are 5*. Also, will the prices go down if I wait? $416 is a bit absurd but I do not like Hotwire..so I have a bit of a dilemma I guess. Thanks for the help! Jasmine Link to comment
thereuare
Each company can mark-up and set their own rates for any given hotel, each service may be getting a different rate for the same hotel, or this could actually be two different properties. There is no telling if rates will come down, or move even higher, between now and your trip, but i will add that seasonally this is one of the most expensive weekends of the year as last minute travelers come to NYC to finish their holiday shopping and see the Rockefeller Center tree and store holiday decorations. What are the amenities lists for each? Are you willing to pay $300/nite for a room for this trip? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Ajasmineflower
Hot.wire has gone up to $330 a night, and their tax is a bit higher than PRICELINE. PRICELINE EXPRESS has it going for $358 a night I wanted to stay below $300 a night, but I think I need to be more realistic? Link to comment
thereuare
You're within 10% so you're not that far off to the point of being unrealistic, but with HOTWIRE and PRICELINE EXPRESS there is no bidding, so you can only take the prices that are offered... or try bidding on PRICELINE for a better price. Ajasmineflower
I booked each night separatly as the price came out cheaper that way. ended up getting hotel room (without tax added) for less than $300 a night. Was happy about that. Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success! Was this thru HOTWIRE? If so, can you please add a reply to this thread with the amenities HOTWIRE shows for this property when viewing your purchase history using the MY ACCOUNT link on the top right of their home page. Or if PRICELINE EXPRESS do you recall the amenities associated with this offer? Please try to post your wins/decisions as you receive them so that others can benefit from the information in a timely manner, as well as a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your trip. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Thanks.
