danielpwagner
Hello, I'm planning a trip to Las Vegas from September 3rd to September 12th, and was looking for a 5 star hotel deal with Price.line. I've noticed that Price.line recently removed Strip Vicinity North. Does this means that now the Trump is part of the Strip North? Is there any way to avoid the Trump now? Only with the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals or Hot.wire? Same question for Vicinity South. I would be OK with any hotel but the Vdara… is there a way to avoid it? Finally, is it too soon to start bidding? Sincerely, Daniel Link to comment
yellowdog
Welcome to BetterBidding! Yes, the Trump is now located in the North zone. The answer is no to both of your questions when it comes to avoiding a specific hotel. You can't bid on or avoid a specific hotel when bidding on PRICELINE You have to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) you select. You need to go with HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS if you don't want to stay at Trump or Vdara. No, I don't think it to early to star bidding. Let us know your thoughts and we'll go from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases and searches. Yellowdog. Link to comment
Joe12345
Isn't there a way to eliminate Trump? If the description does not have "Casino" in it the only hotels you are left with is Venetion/Palazzo or Wynn/Encore right? Side question: Under express deals if it says "9.0" guest star rating does that mean it is not wynn since that hotel has 8.9 star rating? (venetian has 9.1) Thanks, Joe Link to comment
AaronJB
There is no way to avoid a particular property when bidding in general. If you want to avoid the Trump, the best option would be to go through PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE and look for a listing with casino. Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if you have additional questions. If you need help with an upcoming trip please start a NEW TOPIC. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
danielpwagner
Just got this deal on PRICELINE EXPRESS, after clicking on your website link :). The Trump wasn't my first choice, but the difference was huge for 10 nights. Got an extra 5% using the Metro6 code. Interestingly, I tried to "Name My Own Price" and went up to 86 dollars (the price I paid after the 5% discount on the Express) but I didn't came through. Instead, Priceline gave me a counter offer of $ 99,00. I was tempted to see if by any chance the $ 99,00 hotel would have been something different then the Trump, but I would have been very disappointed to pay $ 140,00 more then I could have. What do you guys think? Should I have took a bet? Is there any chance they would offer the Trump at a more expensive price through bidding then through Express Deal? Anyway, the price was excellent and I'm happy :). Daniel Link to comment
yellowdog
Congratulations on your success! Thanks for using the PRICELINE links on the board. We hope you're satisfied with the outcome and will like the Trump Resort. Can you please add a reply to this thread with the amenities that PRICELINE EXPRESS associated with this property and showed before your purchase. Is there any chance they would offer the Trump at a more expensive price through bidding then through Express Deal?Yes, the PRICELINE bidding side and PRICELINE EXPRESS deals isn't the same service so this could happen. Enjoy your stay. Yellowdog. Link to comment

MaestroChris
Why don't you want to stay at the Vdara? I'm going next week, so I was disappointed to see that someone didn't like that spot. Can you give me any reasons why??? Thanks MaestroChris Link to comment
thereuare
I can't speak for the OP but if somebody is looking to avoid the Vdara it's usually because they don't have a casino on-site... i don't think there is any general consensus that there is anything 'wrong' with the hotel. As well, the Trump is the property that most are looking to avoid, yet it works well for the OP's plans this trip, so just an example of how everyone's needs/experiences are different; i suspect you'll have a very nice stay at the Vdara.
