yellowdog
Welcome to BetterBidding! Best guess would be Trump Towers. Keep us updated on your progress and let us know what you ultimately decide or if we can be of further help. jrizya
Thanks, I'm hoping to avoid Trump and get Palazzo or Venetian, any stats/thoughts on whether that is more likely with Hotwire or Priceline (or Priceline NYOP or Express)? Link to comment
thereuare
With PRICELINE and PRICELINE EXPRESS the Trump is currently located in its own zone, Strip Vicinity North... you can avoid this property entirely by only choosing the Strip North zone (but of course you may receive something other than the Venetian or Palazzo, as the Wynn has also been reported to the board at the 5* level in this zone... and it's suspect that the Encore could appear at any time) Also, Las Vegas is one of the cities that is included in the PRICELINE EXPRESS 5% OFF discount code and link in my signature. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. jrizya
I think I will try NYOP for Las Vegas Strip North 5* for April 24-27, it sounds like all of the 5* hotels in that area are really nice. Do you provide advice on how to do the bidding? Thanks for anything and everything :-) Should I post this in the Priceline specific area? Link to comment
AaronJB
Please keep all posts for this stay within this thread - thanks. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay? I'm seeing what appears to be the Venetian or Palazzo for $187 (the price you see may vary) on Hot.wire (if this listing is of interest, let us know and we would be happy to point out the listing.) If you want to bid for Strip North at the 5* level, I think it will likely take $160-175, but I'd certainly start lower. Would the ability to try to pick out what is potentially the Venetian or Palazzo be worth the extra or do you want to take the risk of potentially getting something else using NYOP? Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
jrizya
Our desired budget is as little as we can get away with :-). Priceline.Express lists 5* hotel in North for $148 (which would be about $141 with the 5% discount you provide, right?). Your list shows only the Venetian and the Palazzo in the north for Priceline.Express. I think we would also be fine with the Wynn and/or Encore. So, if those are the options for NYOP, I believe we would still give that a try. Cheers, Jon Link to comment
thereuare
Your list shows only the Venetian and the Palazzo in the north for PRICELINE EXPRESS.Note that just tonite the Wynn was reported to the board from a PRICELINE EXPRESS purchase, so this has been added to the Priceline Hotel List as one of the 'known' reported hotels in the zone. I think we would also be fine with the Wynn and/or Encore. So, if those are the options for NYOP, I believe we would still give that a try. There could always be a new hotel recently added to the system or upgraded, but the above are the 'known' hotels in this zone and (imo) the likely outcome. If you want to try bidding, what would be your maximum bid for a 5* hotel in this zone for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. jrizya
If we can get a 5* for 141ish on Priceline.Express, obviously we wouldn't go that high on NYOP. Is $130 realistic as a top bid? Link to comment
thereuare
Some people bid up to $1 below the PRICELINE EXPRESS rate... others somewhat less. If you want to use a $130 maximum bid, you can try as follows: When bidding 5* in Las Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 5* Strip North... Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $113, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $123, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $128, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $130 Any questions feel free to ask. thereuare
So do you want to bid higher next round OR take the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer? With the extra 5% discount link and code in my signature it makes the difference between bidding vs. express a bit smaller. As well, given your stay covers dates which likely have very different rates (since it includes a midweek Thursday nite (cheap) and more expensive weekend nites (expensive))... sometimes this can effect the price needed for a successful bid as PRICELINE doesn't always simply average the minimum required bid for each nite and then make that the average needed to win all 3 nites in one purchase. In other words if these are the rates needed to win a hotel for each of the three nites (prices are just an example, not necessarily rates to rates for your specific dates above): $60, $120, $120 = $300 total ==> it's not always the case that PRICELINE will accept a $100 bid for the complete stay (even though this would seem to be the 'right' amount if you took an average of what was needed to win each of the three nights individually) Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. jrizya
I think I'll just do the Priceline Express. I'll report back after. Link to comment
jrizya
Used your PRICELINE EXPRESS link and the discount code. Saving around $80/night off any other price we could find for the type of hotel we wanted. Thanks!!! Link to comment
