EverBlue
This is my first post. I was so tempted on $32 for a 2.5* Hilton Garden in Edison that some of you got from Priceline. Since we have 4 adults, I wasn't sure if I could get a room from Priceline that can accomendate 4 adults. I know that Priceline will only guarantee accomendation for 2 people. But what happen when you show up at the hotel with 4 guests, would they give you 2 beds instead of 1 if they have them available without having you paying extra? I don't mind paying extra for the extra 2 people as long as it's reasonable charge. Would they give you a hard time by not letting the 2 extra guests check in since you got a ridiculous deal already and make you purchase another room for the extra guests at their regular rate on the spot? Also, can you bring in the extra 2 guests without letting them know to avoid the extra charge if there's any? Please let me know if you had any experience dealing with this kind of situation. Thanks! To be on the safe side, I went with Hotwire and found their deal to be $62 from a 3* hotel in Edison (Edison-Woodbridge) area. I was very surprised to see Sheraton Edison Hotel Raritan Center came up. I was only expecting to get Holiday Inn or somewhere along those line. Never imaging Sheraton Edison was rating by Hotwire with 3* as well.$62 - 3* Sheraton Edison Hotel Raritan CenterFrom 10/14/05 - 10/16/05Ordered on 10/12/05 Link to comment

thereuare
You could have had a very good idea of what this hotel would be by matching the amenities and star rating to what is in our HOTWIRE HOTEL LISTI'm assuming you selected 4 occupants thru Hotwire above and therefore should have no problem with your stay.If you had used Priceline, they take the stance, "We guarantee double occupancy, after that it is at the discretion of the hotel.... bed configuration is not guaranteed".So the problem would have been if you showed up at the hotel and were given a room with only one bed and the hotel was not able/willing to switch you to a room with two beds. Booking more than double occupancy is more/less of a risk in certain areas... in an area such as Orlando where hotels are used to families, there are more rooms with two bed configurations so there is less of a risk of those type of rooms not being available when you check-in; whereas in a city such as NYC it is a much greater risk as hotels rooms are notoriously small and many hotels have very few rooms with more than one bed in them.
