Cheapbecauseofkids
Hi new to the site. Would like to go to Vegas for 10 year anniversary with wife on May 28. I heard it cheapest to go after memorial day because the rooms are empty.I will try the rebidding change zone thing I saw. Nice tip. Any ideas on where to start the price? We would prefer north, but south is fine. All we care about is the pool in particular. Thanks Link to comment
Cheapbecauseofkids
Hi, sorry I am new here, just trying to figure this out. Hotwire is showing 2 5 star hotels in the North Strip of Vegas.First one, price is 82 per night, shows other sites price at 152. Hint says Wynn, Encore, Palazzo. Palazzo on priceline regular price is 152. Second one is 117 per night, shows other sites price at 167. Hint says Wynn, Encore, Bellagio. I cannot find that price matching anywhere.I just want to make sure it is not Trump. I did not see a casino mentioned in the amenties. Should it be?Thanks for the advice Link to comment
yellowdog
Welcome to BetterBidding and congratulations! Please keep all posts in the same thread since posts are for the same stay. If you need help with a HOTWIRE ID so please list the amenities HOTWIRE associates with the hotel you're looking at and we'll be happy to have a look at this. Post only the amenity names (and not the full descriptions that go along with it) as it will make your post easier for us to read and helps minimize the chance that we miss an amenity when researching your hotel.Or do you want to try to undercut the price on HOTWIRE with PRICELINE? If you want to go the PRICELINE route so please post your budget before tax/fee'sPlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog. Link to comment
Cheapbecauseofkids
Would definitely like to keep it under 100 per night, would love 75. Prefer Wynn/Encore if possible. I am going towards high vacancy midweek after memorial day. Would you recommend going south strip for that price?Amenities for hotels: 5-star Hotel in The Strip - North Price is $ 81.00 per night (This has to be trump because of the kitchenette right and no casino?)This Hotel features the following amenities:Spa Services Resort Free Parking Pet friendly Pet friendly - terms applySmoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Kitchenette 2nd hotel - Palazzo or Venietan?Resort Free Parking Suite Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Accessible for the blind Braille or raised signageAccessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking <amenity names only please... not descriptions>Roll-in shower Bathroom has a roll-in showerTHANKS!!! AaronJB
First w/kitchenette would be a likely match for the Trump.Second would be a possible match for the Venetian or PalazzoThank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
Cheapbecauseofkids
Should you start bidding on priceline at 60% of the hotwire price? Link to comment
Romelle
Bidding is free, and Las Vegas has lots of re-bidding options at the 5* level so - why not? You probably won't have success until you get on up quite a bit, but at least you will know you didn't leave money on the table. I haven't looked recently, but I know there were 11 usable zones not too long ago. There is discussion in the FAQs about free re-bidding. If you still aren't sure of the concept, post back. thereuare
If you let us know your maximum bid we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Also, as you prefer the Strip North zone, did you want to bid this zone only up to a given amount before including Strip South in your bidding, or is the least expensive 5* in either zone the ultimately goal?Let us know the above and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Cheapbecauseofkids
I went up to 85 in the north strip, did not get it after 6 rebids. I think I would prefer paying more for the north because I would be sure of Palazzo/Venitian/Wynn, which are my favorite 3. If I go south, I figure I will end up with Vdara which besides Trump is the only 5 star I do not wish to go. That is why I have not bid priceline in the south. I do not want to go above 100 for the room. I cannot go above 120. Thanks Link to comment
yellowdog
CheapbecauseofkidsI would keep trying for the North zone. I don't think you're far from hiting if you tried $85. I think this will take arround $100 to land something If you don't want to stay at trump so don't use the North Strip Vicinity zone.Keep us updated and let us know if we can be of further help along the way. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
