Priceline Hotel: Help please - MTE or MTW Oct 13-15

Hi,

Have been a lurker here for years and up until now, I haven't needed assistance.

Looking for 2 night stay a 3 or 4 star hotel (preferably 4 star) at MTE or MTW for Oct 13-15. I am going on a cruise on the 15th. The rack rates are blowing me away and Hotwire is suggesting $287 plus for 3 and 4 star hotels.

Any bidding suggestions? I am not opposed to using Hotwire if some good prices come up. I have not seen any successful bids for the time frame I am looking for. I am also curious if there is something going on in NYC that weekend or are prices really that high now (it has been 3 years since I have been to the city).

I will book Beekman towers at as backup.

Just to confirm - I can cancel this 72 hours before, right? I didn't see that on the page when I was searching.

Also - it looks like there is only on bed. Is the couch comfortable?

Yes, if you book the Beekman Tower thru this link it is cancellable up until 72 hours before your check-in date.

I can't comment on the couch, but it is a 'pull-out'.

If you're an experienced Priceline user we would welcome your previous bids also... we have become such a viable resource due to users posting their winning bid information, so we would appreciate you posting even when you don't "need help" (as the information can certainly help others).

I am a "convert" from the other site and will start posting my winning bids here. Most of my bids are in predictable places such as Vancouver and FLL.

NYC is a different animal for me :)
