hakkagirl
hi there, Oct 2 to Oct 10. have heard Fall is the second most expensive time in NYC, next to Christmas. we're looking to book a 3.5 to 4 stars in any NYC area. what is the average cost of hotel at this time of year, so we're not under-bidding. also, what are our chances of getting all the dates? or should we split the dates up? thank you. thereuare
It will likely take a bit more than $200/nite for a 3.5* or 4* hotel for this trip... is this inline with your expectations?Once we have an idea of your maximum bid we can look into SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, but i doubt this will benefit you too much since this is a Tuesday-following Wednesday stay... rate drops would most likely happen over the weekend, which doesn't make this an easy split (since you need nites both before and after the weekend)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and please click each of these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links before replying.Thanks. hakkagirl
our maximum would be $225.. would we have better luck booking in early September, closer the dates we want? thanks for your help. Link to comment

hakkagirl
not sure what i'm doing wrong.. all bids rejected (started with 4* MTE, MTW and added rebids zones etc), i closed browser and started second bid for 4* TS, CPS - said i had already bidded on these same zones... am i doing something wrong? thanks for your help.. and yes, i used the PRICELINE link Link to comment
AaronJB
You are not doing anything technically wrong if you are not having bid accepted - this is unfortunately a very busy period and if bids are not being accepted, then unfortunately a higher bid is required. What was your last set of bids? (zone/top price)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
