cjr566
Accepted on first try. Not bad given that I received a wedding invitation at the Palmer House with "special" rates well in excess of $200. Link to comment
bdsisme
Time for you to be the hero and tell some of the other wedding guests the bidding "strategy" ... and use this site's PRICELINE link of course. Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success! Glad to see this works perfectly for your plans! If you do advise other wedding guests, please do ask them to stop by and use the links on the board here, but also make sure they understand that could receive a different hotel... to use PRICELINE they need to be comfortable with staying at a different hotel than the rest of the group in exchange for an $85/nite rate. If they don't understand this you'll go from hero to goat in no time at all. ;)Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay and have fun at the wedding. AaronJB
If they bid for 4* in the same zone, the worst case scenario is that they are still not terribly far away from the Palmer, and if they do get a different property, the savings over the wedding rate could go towards taxi to/from (or just from) and still probably have considerable savings left over.
