airting5
I'm looking for a hotel in the Clearwater Beach area for 7/14-7/15/12. Just one night. I am looking at the hotels for 3.5* in that area, there is only 2 that I would be bidding on, the Marriott and Sheraton. It says that the 3.5* hotel is the best deal price for that area. There is one other hotel there but it doesn't have 8 or higher reviews so I won't get that one. The Sheraton actual price is like $190 per night, I am looking to get something for under $100. What do you think would be a good price to bid with? I haven't seen any other 3.5* for this area on here. Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
...there is only 2 that I would be bidding on, the Marriott and Sheraton.Note that you can't use the 'retail' listings on PRICELINE to determine waht you will get when bidding... each side of their service uses a different universe of hotels. See the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ for more information on this subject. Also, the star rating you select is the minimum that you're willing to accept, so your 3.5* bid could also be upgraded to a higher rated 4* property (which brings about more possibilities)If you're looking to bid 3.5* in the Clearwater Beach zone with a maximum bid of $100 i would try as follows:When bidding 3.5* in this zone you have SEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3.5* Clearwater Beach...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. airting5
I have been working on the hotel. Love that I have so many re-bids, but still have not prevailed. I am up to $111 and still no success. Link to comment

zanemoseley
Please keep us posted. I'm looking at visiting July 27-29th in the Clearwater Beach area but have yet to bid yet. I will post any success I have. I'm afraid however that you're going to have to go quite a bit above $111 to get one of these hotels in the middle of summer. Link to comment
