AaronJB
The 4* listing would be a possible match for the Omni or Westin Bonaventure; the 3.5* LAX has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but I'd be very concerned by a property that gets a 55% approval rate from HOTWIRE customers.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. AaronJB
My guess would be the Westin Bonaventure or Millennium Biltmore.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
mbanu
Should I be worried about the 65% hotwire rating as well as the 3.5 trip advisor rating.. Seems like this hotel does not get an overwhelming thumbs up from previous customers Link to comment
mbanu
search on priceline found the hotel (Omni) for $143/night (tax not included). i decided to use name your price to possible get a lower price. Started my bidding at $110 (Possibly a bit naive). I got a return to improve the bid by at least $27 to a make it $137/night (pretty much same as the originally listed price of $143/night). The positive was that i was not prompted to add or check a different zone hence I knew my bidding was not far off..Initially, i could not enter any figure lower than the $137 that was recommended so i decided to restart search and bidding from scratch. A tip I used to narrow down the possible hotels was to filter the original search down to 4 star hotels in downtown LA with price range $100 - $200. 4 hotels came up for which the Omni was listed among them. Also, the omni had the lowest price at $143. Using this info -I knew most likely i will be getting the Omni hotel.I proceeded to rebid at $125 (probably could have done 120) and it returned with Omni as the winning bid.. Saved about 13% compared to third party booking. Omni website has same date priced for about $175/night...I am somewhat satisfied with the result. Can the admins kindly update my hotwire thread for this same trip. Thanks.FYI - The Millenium Biltmore is listed as 3 1/2 * in priceline but possibly listed as a 4* in Hotwire.. Link to comment
thereuare
Should I be worried about the 65% hotwire rating as well as the 3.5 trip advisor rating.. Seems like this hotel does not get an overwhelming thumbs up from previous customersIt's certainly something to take note of, but you have to decide if it represents a good value for the price offered. Also, of the two guesses above, it looks like the Westin Bonaventure pool is outdoor, so i would lean towards the Millenium Biltmore as being the more likely of the two (or there could be some other property not yet reported to the board, as the 'indoor pool' and 'accessible options' are new amenities recently put into use by HOTWIRE (and we therefore have not seen anything reported with this exact amenity set yet given how recently the new amenities were introduced)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. thereuare
Congratulations on your success! Looks like you received a nice deal and are please with the results, thank you for sharing your win with the board. Can the admins kindly update my hotwire thread for this same trip.In the future you can simply use the "EDIT TO REPORT WIN" button on the lower right corner of the board which will enable you to edit your topic title and add a reply to reflect your win (however, you can't see it now since it can only be used once and then it disappears, and we just used it to reflect your purchase. using the button and form to report your win will even automatically move your thread from the hotwire forum to the priceline section of the board (if necessary))Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
