pipp22
I've been trying to figure out possible matches for a couple all-inclusive properties on Hotwire. Also, is there any reason not to book 1 night through hotwire to find out what the hotel is and then book again once you find out? Thanks (clicked on the links as well).Travel Dates -> 5/08-5/13 for 2 adults$97.00 - 3-star All-inclusive hotel in Playa del Carmen - PlayacarNear Beach Food and Beverages Included Evening Entertainment Included Daily Activities Included Children's Activity Program Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby All-Inclusive $97.002.5-star All-inclusive hotel in South Hotel ZoneResort Complimentary Breakfast Beachfront Property Food and Beverages Included A la Carte Dining Options Water Sports/Ocean Activities Included Evening Entertainment Included Daily Activities Included Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services All-Inclusive $111.003.5-star All-inclusive hotel in Hotel Zone - Convention CenterResort Complimentary Breakfast Beachfront Property Food and Beverages Included A la Carte Dining Options Water Sports/Ocean Activities Included Evening Entertainment Included Daily Activities Included Children's Activity Program Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services All-Inclusive Link to comment
thereuare
...is there any reason not to book 1 night through hotwire to find out what the hotel is and then book again once you find out? This has been done before and it's a viable strategy, but you first want to search for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then the balance to ensure that the same hotel appears for both the solo nite you intend to purchase and then again for the remainder of your stay. There is always the chance that the same hotel won't appear after you make your first purchase, but seeing that the same hotel appears on both searches as previously described helps minimize this chance (but doesn't totally eliminate it)None of these property have yet been reported to the board, but below is my best guess for each.$97.00 - 3-star All-inclusive hotel in Playa del Carmen - PlayacarRiu Lupita$97.002.5-star All-inclusive hotel in South Hotel ZoneOasis Cancun$111.003.5-star All-inclusive hotel in Hotel Zone - Convention Center<no guess>Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. pipp22
Thanks for the help. I investigated your guesses, and they seem very plausible (especially the Riu, since it is "near beach").On the Hotwire strategy of bidding 1 day first, would you be able to contact the hotel in advance of your stay to ensure the two reservations are in the same room (i.e., if one were to have a 1 night reservation and a 3 night reservation but didn't want to deal with changing rooms after a day?)? thereuare
On the Hotwire strategy of bidding 1 day first, would you be able to contact the hotel in advance of your stay to ensure the two reservations are in the same roomIt's usually not a problem, but you could contact the hotel beforehand and let them know that you have two separate but continuous reservations and that you'd like to keep the same room. You may (likely) need to go to the front desk sometime on 'switch' day to officially check-out of the room and then check back in. At check-in, remind them of your second reservation and ask them to block the room for the remaining nites so that you don't need to change rooms. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. pipp22
I went ahead and got the last two nights actually. 5/21-5/23 and the rate went down by one dollar, so $96. Link to comment
thereuare
Thanks for the follow-up and additional info, we want to ensure the listing appears correctly in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins and our Priceline Maps.I assume you meant 5/11-5/13 (as your original post indicated the complete stay of 5/8-5/13, but you post above indicates a purchase was made for 5/21-5/23)Thanks again. pipp22
It's 5/21-5/23. My dates are 5/08-5/24, but I already have a 7 night reservation in the middle of those dates. Hence, I've been looking for accommodations at the beginning and tail end of those dates. Sorry for the confusion! Link to comment
