mich439
I want to bid on a 4* in the Boston Common area. We will be travelling with friends so I want to bid on 2 rooms but we will be be staying March 15-18 and they will be staying March 16-18. Is there anyway to guarantee we are at the same hotel? AaronJB
PRICELINE does have an "extend your stay" feature, but unfortunately if you were to book two rooms for 3/16-18 in one transaction for the same hotel and then try to extend, you'd have to extend for both rooms, so that would not work.Your best bet to ensure 100% that both rooms would be at the same hotel for the time period when everyone was together would to be to book two rooms for 3/16-18, then try to book one additional night for one of the rooms separately. This MAY mean that one party would have to switch hotels for the first night, but that everyone would definitely be together for 3/16-18.Or you could try to book two separate transactions for 3/16-18 hope that you wind up at the same property (there's the chance you may not) and then try to extend only one of the transactions. There is the chance that you may not be able to extend your stay using the "extend your stay" feature. If you book one transaction for 3/16-18 and one for 3/15-18 there's an even greater chance of different inventory and different results with multiple transactions.HOTWIRE definitely may be more useful in this case because you can see the inventory - if you were to search for 3/16-18 for two rooms/4 adults (if there are four adults in the party), you could see the inventory and see if what appears to be the same hotel is also showing (it may not be) for one room the 3/15 night. Which option sounds most appealing? Please let us know if you have any questions before proceeding.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. mich439
I used your PRICELINE link and booked two rooms through Priceline March 16-18. I got the Back Bay Hotel for $140. I took a chance and bid separately for one room on the 15th and I got the same hotel at the same rate. Thanks for your help. Link to comment
