Peanut Chew
So I didn't do as well as some others on this board (see below for explanation), but I figured I'd chime in with my results:Bid $120 for 3.5* in Copley, Brighton - Brookline, Harbor Front-Aquarium, Waterfront - Convention Center : FailGot the message about increasing my bid to $150.Tried to re-bid at $130 (without changing any options), but the system wouldn't let me. Re-bid at $150 and got the Boston Back Bay Hotel.***I clearly should have visited this site before I started bidding. It seems that the better strategy would have been to only pick one area that had 3.5* hotels, and then slowly add other areas as I re-bid. I also would have learned about the "up your bid to $150" trick that everyone else seems to have gotten. For future knowledge! Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success! While perhaps not the cheapest this hotel could be had, it's still a very nice discount to a conventionally booked room and this hotel gets GREAT reviews!Hope you're pleased with the results and thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. Peanut Chew
I fully agree. Without a doubt, I got a good deal on a very nice hotel. It may not have been the "best" deal, but that's okay. Now that I'm more aware of how the bidding process works, I can definitely try to do better the next time around! Link to comment
Travelling Java Consultant
I got The Back Bay via Priceline on the same days too. July 4th in Boston should be a blast.Have fun. Link to comment
