bevans
I am planning a trip to DC 6/4-6/7. We will be wanting to see the normal sites and a couple museums, so I am thinking that the areas we would be looking are: Convention Ctr - Capitol Hill area Area Details Dupont Circle - Woodley Park Area Details Georgetown - Foggy Bottom Area Details White House - Downtown Area DetailsI would like to try for 4* in the range of $90 or less if possible... If not,we will probably drop to 3*.Are there any bidding suggestions to make this work? Also, are thereother areas which we should consider staying? I am not set on any area in particular, I just want to be able to get around while there...We will have a car to get to the hotel, but I would prefer using Hotel or public transportation to get to our "local" destinations. Thanks,Bryan Link to comment
thereuare
Are the above zones ranked in preference order or you have no preference as long as it is in one of those areas? If there is a preference, what is more important: zone or price? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
bevans
There is not a preference for a specific zone. It just looks likethose zones are accessible to the "tourist" areas. Thanks,Bryan Link to comment
thereuare
You have 5 re-bid zones available at the 4* level, if you're not sure which they are please ask for help before proceeding.Select all 4* and all 4 acceptable zones mentioned above...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90.Any questions feel free to ask. If the above fails (which i think it very well may) let us know if you want to raise your limit (we've left our one re-bid zone so that you can still continue) or lower your star rating. bevans
OK, after MUCH bidding and re-bidding, I looked closely at Orbitz and found that 6/6 night was a higher price on several hotels... Due to this, I bid Capital and Convention Center for 4* $80 and got it... Maybe I should have started lower.Capital Hilton $806/4 - 6/6It looks like I could have gotten this direct for $149, but it still seems like a good deal. Now to figure out what to do for the night of 6/6. thereuare
Congratulations on your (partial) win.Can you please double-check the zone you won this hotel in, as the Capital Hilton is in the (White House - Downtown) zone, not the (Convention Center-Capitol Hill) zone.If you'd like help for the last nite of your stay please start a NEW TOPIC so that we will be able to easily reflect the hotel eventually won in the topic title and keep the board format of the board consistent of one win per thread.Enjoy your stay.
