cheffip
Any idea on the following for March 27, 1 night @ $127??3 1/2 * Boutique, Beachfront, smoke free, comp breakfast, laundry, high speedI need a SoBe room for one night and am discouraged by the prices I see on Hotels.com etc.Wondered about this Hotwire option or whether I should try my luck on Priceline. If so is there a SoBe Priceline strategy? I have some experience with South Beach hotels and have found the star ratings aren't a good guide to what you end up with. Link to comment
thereuare
Which South Beach zone is the HOTWIRE property located in?What is more important to you for this stay... the lowest price or having a guess as to what you might receive before your purchase? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. cheffip
Used your HOTWIRE link to check on zone...it's SoBe Ocean Drive. Given results from your awards calendar, if this one checked out I would take it over an unknown Priceline (unless I could get a Priceline 4* in this price range which is unlikely in high season). I notice Hotwire is labeliing this a "Super savings" price. Is that significant? Thanks. Link to comment
thereuare
Unfortunately this property has not yet been reported to the board, and with so many small and independent properties in this area, it's hard to determine which this may be.The Avalon hotel is one property which seems to fit, but the amenities are somewhat vague for this area, so i'm sure there are likely others which fit as well. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. I have some experience with South Beach hotels and have found the star ratings aren't a good guide to what you end up with.Ok, I ended up getting discouraged from all my failed priceline bids for a 3.5 star SoBe hotel. I used Hotwire to book what looks like the exact same hotel you described. I paid $151 +fees for a one night stay (4/5/11 - 4/6/11) at the Edgewater South Beach hotel. Looks really nice, and it's on the beach.Contact info: 1410 Ocean Drive | Miami Beach, FL 33139 Link to comment
cheffip
Interesting...I would be very satisfied with the Edgewater. It's new and has good early reviews. But I don't see your hotel on HOTWIRE for April 5-6. Did it have all the same icons that I listed? Link to comment
yellowdog
jh0Can you please post your HOTWIRE stay in a separate topic including all the amenities, price, date etc. You can still view all of this by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page.TIA.Yellowdog.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. cheffip
In the end I took a pass on this trip but reviews for the Edgewater have been good so I would consider staying there in future. Link to comment
