kurtk0127
I'd like help on the same issue as this DISNEY POST, going to disney in mid-July and would like to get the nicest hotel for smallest $. Would appreciate any help and suggestions. Have never used priceline and scared of getting a hotel that they claim is 4-star but not one I would have chosen. Thanks! Link to comment

ufjoe21
Sorry thereuare all I meant was you have to be willing to accept a so-called "blind" booking of a hotel, if you're not comfortable with this concept then you should stick to other sites like hotwire, etc.Sorry didn't mean anything negative, I'll try to offer something positive.....-yes you can get 7 nights or more if you want on priceline, that's how you get a great deal by using the priceline savings for a long trip-their claim to a 4* is usually valid, hotwire tends to be a little lofty about their star ratings so buyer beware-mid-july you can start bidding right now, you can get a great deal now or you can wait a month or so and try to get a good deal, never hurts to try early-resort bids usually revolve around $100 +/-$50 for Orlando and tend to be more expensive than 4* Link to comment
thereuare
Sometimes it's not what you say... but the way you say it. I'm certain you know the difference and will help foster the environment of making everyone feel comfortable here.kurtk0127, best bet is to stick with the higher rated hotels and expect the low end of that star level... leaves only a little room for disappointment and a lot of room for upside.Best way to start is to look at the PRICELINE HOTEL LIST for this area. See if you are happy with all the hotels that have been reported at a given star level in the zone. If so, you're reasonably safe to bid the zone, as you could always receive a hotel not yet reported or a hotel that has been upgraded/downgraded.So there-in lies the risk, you basically have to determine for yourself if the savings involved are worth the unknown (for the most part accepting any property from a 'pool' of reported hotels)... for most of us the trade-offs is an easy decision. You may also want to ease into an opaque purchase by using HOTWIRE, it will likely cost you a little more than priceline, but you have a bit more control over the hotel you are likley to get by matching up the amenities and star ratings to those in our lists. Still no guarantees, but a high degree of accuracy. So feel free to ask any questions and let us know your thoughts regarding the above. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
