rwethereyet?
I can not find anybody in here that has ever bid or won a 4* in Durham...I will be staying from the 4th of Sept until the 6th.Should I bid 3.5* and get a cheap deal? I was hoping for a 4* for not more than $55.Any suggestions?TIA Link to comment

rwethereyet?
I was considering Chapel Hill-Durham, sorry I left that out.I am considering Durham and Chapel Hill, 4* or 3.5*. I am thinking for 3.5 $45.Thanks again Link to comment
thereuare
Did you want to bid up to your limit for a 4* hotel in the Chapel Hill zone, then if that is rejected, try for the least expensive 3.5* in either the Chapel Hill or Durham zones? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. rwethereyet?
ok, I think I have decided for 3.5*, is $45 max a possibility? Chapel hill and Durham.THANKS!! Link to comment
thereuare
I don't think that $45 will be enough for a 3.5* on these dates but you can try. I've suggested a strategy to go up to $55 (which may not be enough either) since you mentioned that figure as a previous maximum bid at the 4* level, but you can stop at whatever star level you'd like.At the 3.5* level you have SIX re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3.5* Durham...Bid $33, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $35, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $38, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 3.5* Chapel Hill...Bid $33, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $35, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $38, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 3.5* Durham and Chapel Hill...Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $43, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $48, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $53, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. rwethereyet?
ok, I just won at first bid...wish I had started lower but I was afraid, like you said, that the price I was looking at was not "real" and you mentioned even $55 was not possible...anyway, bid $50, got the Sheraton Chapel Hill Hotel for a total of $122On-line rooms start at $180 so I am REALLY happy!!! :) THANKS Link to comment
