xdeeman
Trying to find a good rate on a 3.5 or 4* in the north loop area. Tried $72 for a 4* and denied. Added 3.5* and bumped price to $76 and denied again. Will try again tomorrow by trying $80 for a 4*.If it matters, I am trying for 2 rooms.I'll keep the board posted. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!...in the north loop area. There is no "north loop" zone on PRICELINE... can you clarify if you're bidding the NMA-River North zone, the Loop zone, or both? What is your maximum bid for this stay? Please read your messages and click this PRICELINE link before your next reply. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. xdeeman
Sorry - the location is indeed North Michigan Ave - River North Area.I tried again for 4* in this area only @ $86 and was denied. I was hoping for a 4* for under $90. I will keep inching up each day. I am trying to avoid 3.5* places. Link to comment
AaronJB
Some of the 3.5*'s in this zone are actually pretty nice; unless you are looking to avoid a particular hotel at the 3.5* level, it's worth considering in this area.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. thereuare
Are you familiar with, and using, your re-bid zones? If not, see this thread: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained for more info, but if you're new to the concept, it's highly recommended you ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before bidding. What is your maximum bid for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. xdeeman
I was familiar with the "adding a zone" option and I read your informative post......very NICE! I will try it since I am sure there are areas that are not offering 4* in the greater Chicago area. Thanks!! Link to comment
xdeeman
Great advice on the adding zones option - thanks!I am still denied.I tried $81 for for a 3.5 or 4* in the North Michigan Ave - River North Area.I guess what i want to spend is $90 -ish per night. Link to comment
thereuare
As HOTWIRE has a 4.5* property for $109/nite, I don't think you're too far off...At the 4* level you have FIVE re-bid zones, at the 3.5* level you have THREE re-bid zones... please confirm these re-bid zones with the board if you're unsure. For us to suggest a strategy for you to follow, let us know if you're willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR if you're looking for the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay. Also, since i believe you're close to the 'right' price, we're at a point where a dollar or two can make the difference between success and failure... is $90-ish really mean $90, $95, $100??Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly.
