Nanato3
We're planning a trip to Hilton Head in the future (probably the first week of May). We intend to use www.HOTWIRE.com (accessing from this site, of course). We've done some preliminary checking and are seeing favorable rates. We're curious ... do the rates quoted on www.HOTWIRE.com include any resort fees or parking charges? I am assuming not because I've seen nothing on the hotwire site to indicate that they are included, but I'd like to confirm that before we go and book. Can someone give me a heads up on that please? Thanks so much for your help! Link to comment
thereuare
Please follow-up your previous Hotwire Isle of Palms and Hotwire Charleston threads with whatever you ended up doing for each of those stays... then reply to this thread and we'll comment on your questions above. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! Nanato3
Sorry, I thought my responses earlier in those threads had "closed" the discussion, but I have now indicated in those two threads (which dealt with the same planned trip to the Charleston/Mt. Pleasant/Isle of Palms area) that we had to cancel that trip due to a family emergency. We are using this site for our hotwire.com searches, and if our search yields a rate that will fit within our budget, we will book it through this site. Link to comment
thereuare
HOTWIRE rates do not include parking or resort feels. However, if you click the CONTINUE button next to an offering, near the bottom of the subsequent page is a "know before you go" section.... HOTWIRE will usually list any resort fees here which would be payable directly to the hotel. What is your budget for this trip? Are you ready to commit to a purchase at this time? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board for your purchases and searches. Nanato3
No, we're not willing to commit at this time. Since it turns out that our time frame is pretty solid, we have reservations at another hotel already - as our fall back if we are unable to get a rate that will fit into our budget. We are monitoring hotwire.com's rates ... if we can get a 4-star hotel for $85 or less, we will book (monitoring & booking done through your site, of course). We realize we may not be able to get that rate (although the week prior is going for $72 right now; we're aware that doesn't guarantee that the week we want to go will be offered at a similar rate), hence the reservation at another hotel. Thanks for your help. Link to comment
Nanato3
We are indefinitely postponing our trip to Hilton Head due to a family emergency. Thanks. Link to comment

Nanato3
Well, it's not the worst case scenario, but it's bad enough to keep us from traveling next week like planned. My elderly father is ill, and I'm the only one of my sisters who lives nearby, so caring for him falls upon my shoulders. Hopefully he'll be out of the hospital and doing well enough that we can go in a few weeks. But for now, our trip is off. Thanks for your concern. Link to comment
