Priceline Hotel: 4* NYC (CPS) Renaissance Hotel 57

Hi All,

Today was a pretty tough bidding day. I tried every possibly combination and rebid strategy. Started in the Time Square area, move to Midtown West, etc. Lowered my star rating. Logged out.

I wasn't getting anything. decided to try again after lunch with the initial bid of$160. It went all the way up to $189 for the Renaissance New York Hotel 57. I don't understand why it's classified as Central Park South, the hotel is on 57th Street and Lexington Ave, which is Midtown East to me.

This isn't as good as when I got the Algonquin for $80 or the Affinia Dumont for $95, but it does seem to be a nice hotel.

While perhaps a bit higher than you would have liked this is still a VERY nice discount vs. a conventionally booked room here for this nite.

While here, you're just a short walk from my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city and makes for a good, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.
