kmkennedy14
Could anyone give me suggestions on how to best go about bidding on The Marriott Frenchmans Reef on St. Thomas for May 18th for one night. I am hoping to not spend any more than 125.00 for the night, and ideally would like to spend around 100.00. Not sure if this is realistic or not. Thanks in advance. Link to comment
MrWalton
The option to bid for 3.5 or 4* hotels in the US Virgin Islands has disappeared from PRICELINE. There is a Resorts option, so perhaps the Marriott would fit in there? )Of course you are not guaranteed any particular property).I have used the following strategy trying to bid for resorts.Use the PRICELINE link on this siteBid St. Thomas - ResortAdd St. Croix for free Rebid (they have no resorts category there currently). So far I have gone up to $130 on my dates in early May but no luck. :) However, as the dates approach, I see that HOTWIRE is getting cheaper for their 2, 3, and 3.5 star hotels so perhaps I will have better luck on PRICELINE soon. thereuare
The Marriott Frenchmans Reef in St Thomas is currently Resort rated by PRICELINE... but there is no way to bid on this specific property. Are you willing to accept any Resort rated in St Thomas? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment

thereuare
At the Resort level you have ONE re-bid zone available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select Resort St Thomas...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85.If/when the above is rejected wait 24 hours and start with $5 more than your previous bid (ie- $90/$95, $100/$105, $110/$115, etc) until you reach your $125 limit in ~3 days.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. kmkennedy14
Using the PRICELINE links on this site I have bid up to 130.00 with no luck. May try for one or two more days, but its not looking good to get the hotel for the price I had hoped for. Link to comment

kmkennedy14
Decided not to re-bid and go over 130.00. I ended up staying on St. John at concodia eco resort. Link to comment
thereuare
Thank you for closing this thread with your decision... i'm assuming this was a purchase direct with the hotel? (and not thru PRICELINE or HOTWIRE??)Please remember to follow-up your threads with whatever you end up doing for the stay, even if you choose to book direct, cancel your trip, etc. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
