Vintage
I began bidding at $55. a few days ago, increasing two dollars each bid. Three bids each day, for the areas of Dupont Circle, Georgetown and White House. Happy with a $69. win.Vintage Link to comment

Vintage
I called to confirm the room and to request a king-size bed rather than the two doubles [for our anniversary weekend getaway]. I was told they can not do that, but only mark it down as a "preference". I saw others had had some success with receiving a preferred room or upgrade when tipping the person at the front desk for "excellent service". I'd be glad to hear of anyone's experience with this at this hotel.Vintage Link to comment
AaronJB
While this certainly varies, in many major cities (especially NYC), rooms with two beds are rarer and often go for a premium. You can certainly try tipping at the front desk, but I'd be surprised if getting one bed instead of two will be a problem unless it's all they have left. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
