cool_beans00
Hello everyone! I just booked my flight out to NYC for April 16-19th. I'm looking for a 3 night stay in a 4* hotel. I've limited my searches to TS, MTW, and CPS. According to the maps on priceline that seems to be where I want to be. I'm willing to go up to 150/nt. but so far my highest bid has been 130 with no luck. My question is.. It looks like I could save money by expanding my search area to include UWS and empire and MTE area (basically any area that has 4* hotels), but i'm unsure if it's a good place stay. Is it conveniently located to get to attractions of what NYC has to offer? Perhaps it's better to keep the search to ts, mtw, and cps but lower to 2*? any help would be great. thanks!i will be using the PRICELINE link from this forum! Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. Times Square is frequently the most expensive place to stay, and while it is convenient, it's often also crowded and other areas provide a better value for the money (and are still convenient.) MTE is highly recommended, although some of the properties at the 3.5* level in MTE are a bit too far E in MTE.UWS I wouldn't recommend including. MTE, MTW, CPS, TS/Theatre are recommended (and ESB would be okay), although I think my primary recommended would be MTE, which is a very nice area. In terms of Times Square itself, any time I've gone to NYC, I personally have found that I spend the least time in that area - NYC has so many amazing things to offer all around town. Overall, to see all the things that NYC has to offer, one really does have to do some walking, whether you're staying in TS or MTE. The best thing about NYC is walking - you'll find some real gems in terms of local stores and restaurants just walking through neighborhoods.I'd also read this thread regarding hotels in Times Square.I definitely would not lower the star rating to 2*. What would be your desired max budget per night. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
cool_beans00
thanks for the reply!I'm willing to go for a max bid of 150/night. IDEALLY i'd like it sub 130. But I'm trying to keep my expectations real. I will be adding MTE to my search and ESB as well. Link to comment

thereuare
HOTWIRE is currently offering a 4* hotel in the MTE zone with Fitness, Restaurant, Business, Internet, Tennis icons for $144/nite (your price may differ by a few dollars)This is a match for the InterContinental Barclay so this would be my best guess for this one.Would this work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. toybola
I would add the 3.5* at least for the Times Square zone. I have stayed at the Milenium Broadway, the Marriott Marquis and the Doubletree Guest Suites and they are fantastic. Link to comment
