izmeeh
I would like a nice, comfortable hotel, but I'm on a tight budget this year. I would like to know if you think I can get a better deal with PRICELINE. Currently available rate at multiple sites:Sam's Town ~ $29/nightSouth Point ~ $49/night (saw winning bids of $29?)Tuscany ~ $30/nightGold Coast ~ $31/nightStratosphere ~ $33/nightThank you. yellowdog
Welcome to BetterBidding!Well, i don't belive you would score a so much better deal with PRICELINE, but you can always try. MadFlyer
I do not think I would waste time on low end hotels with PRICELINE. HOTWIRE would be a better alternative and you can even avoid hotels with resort fees by figuring out the hotel in advance using the Hotwire Vegas list here. You can find Stratosphere for $25 for your dates, but maybe even move up the downtown Golden Nugget for only $42. You have a long list of hotels that you can identify there. A good non-casino budget alternitive if you win it is in near strip east zone. The Hyatt place has free shuttle from airport and strip, breakfast included suite and sometimes goes for $32 to $34 on PRICELINE. Hard Rock accross street. Link to comment
izmeeh
Hello yellowdog and MadFlyer,Thank you for your help. I don't mind too much as to what zone since we will be driving there. Star rating: 3+ (don't think I would like to stay at Hooters though). I can go up to about $50/night. I'm looking for something a little spacious. Thank you. Link to comment
izmeeh
I did some search on Hotwire and found 3* Condo Near Strip East for $48/night. According to the other posters, it might be Desert Rose Resort. I wonder if I should just go with that. Desert Rose Resort $48/nightTuscany $29/night + $10/night feeOrleans $33/night + $5/night feeWhich is a better deal? Link to comment
thereuare
I think it really depends upon your needs for this stay... are you looking for a hotel where you can gamble? Will you be heading to the Strip every day and sightseeing and/or gamble and only using the hotel as a place to sleep at nite? Is this a gambling trip or do you have business in Las Vegas and won't be heading to the strip at all? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. izmeeh
I'm not looking for a hotel where we can gamble since most places are walking distance to a slot machine. This is not a business trip, and we'll be going to the Strip for sightseeing. We are planning on going to downtown for the Fremont Street Experience as well. We'll be commuting no mater what, but will be on the Strip most of the time. Link to comment
thereuare
Will you have a car or plan on using mass transit/taxis to commute to/from the Strip? (do you drink... as that will be a factor in determining your commuting costs as well, since your car should be off limits if/when you consume)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. izmeeh
Thanks for all your help. I'm going with the Desert Rose Resort. Since I'm getting a better rate on the Desert Rose Resort website, I'm booking with them since I can cancel if something comes up. I'll use the links in the forum the next time I book via PRICELINE or Orbitz. Thanks again. Link to comment
