Priceline Hotel: 4.5 to 5 star on Central strip

Ok. I am learning this site as I go. I love the fact that you can get to know what hotel you will most likely get as well. Having said that I am wondering a few things: I am going to Las Vegas on August 19th to the 23rd. Should I book now or wait until the day before? Having said that I am seeing that the 4.5 to 5 Star hotels on the Central Strip are all good hotels. Ceasars, Wynn, Venetian and Palazzo. But I am reading about the attached resort fees that people are incurring. Are there any hotels in those mentioned that do not add these? Or maybe do not hit you as hard with the fees? Or is it all pretty much standard?
