Won 4*NH Danube City at $80, 4/29-5/2. The only area I did not include was the city center becuase we have a car and I think it might be easier to find cheap parking outside of the city plus from all the reviews I have read say that Vienna has excellent, easily accesible public transportation. I can see that a lot of people have viewed the postings on this board but not many are posting. I am assuming at least a third are going onto pricline and are getting winning/losing bids and not nearly as many people are also posting. People please remember to give and not just take! For starters, there are 23 zones in Vienna, starting with 01 right in the center, and then the low digits circle around that, and finally the higher digits. An address in Vienna always has a postal code right before "Vienna". The first digit is a "1" for Vienna, and the second two tell in which of the 23 zones the address is. The 4th digit usually is a zero. So a quick glance at an address gives you a good general idea of it's location. Then, most addresses in any tourist literature also include the nearest Metro stop.The different Metro lines are numbered as well as color coded. Even the tiles on the walls are color coded.The only possible problem I know is the ring road tram used to run in a circle around the center zone, but now I think you have to change trams to do the circle. It's right that the "Ring-Tram" (Tram No. 1 and 2) used to go around the "Ring". This has changed, so use a new map! At the 4th of April a new Tram-Line starts at the Ring, only for tourism (beginnung at 5 EUR per Person) Link to comment
