superjesusproudfootman
Not feeling happy about this one,Lowest price online was $85Called HOTWIRE customer service complained that this in not a 3* and that I found it cheaper,They were rude,Asked for a supervisor and she did not care,I told then when I use hotwire I expect them to get me a discount not the same prices or more that I could get myself.I told them that I was not going to use hotwire.com again unless they did something to make me happy,I was told their was nothing they could do.I would have used PRICELINE, but I did not want to get the DFW Hyatt, I needed something outside the airport. thereuare
Thank you for sharing your results with the board... sorry you're not happy with the results. While i do understand your frustration...1) most sites rate this property 2.5* or 3* so HOTWIRE's star rating is within reason2) while the hotel offers just about the same rate on their own website, it does come out less after fees and taxes are included, but the terms of hotwire's Double the Difference Guarantee is that the comparison is based upon the base rate. If the hotel direct rate was lower than HOTWIRE would have honored their Double the Difference Guarantee.HOTWIRE's customer service is actually very good but i'm sure there wasn't much they were able to do given the above (ie- their rating is within reason of other websites and there rate didn't qualify for double the difference to be refunded)Bottomline is that you can't buy an opaque booking blindly, you need to do some research first and determine your best deal in the area so that you know if the HOTWIRE rate offered, or the PRICELINE bid you're going to make, is a good deal or not.It would be appreciated if you used our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your future travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. superjesusproudfootman
I found a rate on venere.com of $85 Dollars,I submitted that in for the Double back, but i ould rather have the reservation cancelled then get $20 bucks back.Using the Hotwire package product I thought I was going to get the Hyatt Place in Grapevine,I got burned this time, I will be much more careful in the future,What I am disappointed in is that I saved nothing!I would think due to their business model there would be some discount,I have not been on hotwire in a while but I did notice that some things are now missing,Like the Hotel customer ratings (tripadvisor) and the the retail prices of the hotels (Expedia).I have not seen many good deals on Hotwire,I don't think I'll be back to HotWire Link to comment
