brock1
Hi, I'm trying to get a last-minute hotel for my trip 12/5-12/9. Looking for 3 or 4-star in the Copley area. I'd really prefer to stay in Copley, but if necessary would consider the Downtown area as well. Any help or suggestions, please? Brand new to this. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! What is your maximum bid? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3* or is your goal the least expensive 3* or better hotel for these dates? Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? brock1
My max bid would be 90 or so as it seems that Hotwire has a 3* Theatre (likely Park Plaza?) for $96 for those dates. Having stayed at the Park Plaza, I'd rather try for the 3 and 4 in the Copley area.My goal would be the least expensive 3 or better for those dates, correct.Splitting isn't out of the question, particularly if I can stay in the Copley area. Obviously would prefer not to, but willing to try. Thanks for your help! Link to comment
thereuare
At the 3* level you have three re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Copley...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $65, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Copley and re-bid zone2...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $75, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Copley and re-bid zone3...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $85, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Copley and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $95, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.(went up to $95 since it's your prefered zone and to give you a shot at something other than the Park Plaza, but you can stop at $90 if you wish)If the above is rejected you can choose to either split the bid OR try for the Downtown zone. If you choose to try for Downtown, post back as i would change the strategy slightly.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. brock1
Thanks, I will try this in a bit. Should I be including the 4* zone in these bids as well or just leave them out entirely? Link to comment
thereuare
When you bid 3* it is the minimum star rating that you are willing to accept... the other zones will be included in your search and priceline will upgrade you if a 4* is available at the price you bid. By bidding as per the above, it ensures that you don't pay more for a 4* vs. a 3*, since you stated your preference was the least expenisve 3* or better hotel for these dates.
