Hello:

First time here and I am looking for 1 night in Miami pre-cruise, February 9-10, 2008. Preferably in a good area with complimentary shuttle. Looking spend under $100 if possible. We will be arriving at 7pm and leaving around 11am ..... as long as its clean and safe that would be ok but would be great if it was a nice place also.

Thanks for any help you can give

Kim

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.

The 3* hotel above is in the Miami Airport zone? If so, it is a match for the Holiday Inn Airport so that would be our best guess.

If correct, this would seem like a very nice deal as the hotel is $200+ thru the Holiday Inn website.

You can go with this if it meets your needs, or try for a better price thru priceline... but with priceline you won't be able to take a guess as to the hotel you will receive (nor can you guarantee a hotel shuttle).

If you go with the above please use this HOTWIRE link to begin any purchases you make... if you'd like to go with priceline let us know and we'll suggest a strategy to follow.

Let us know what you decide and we'll advise accordingly.

I have not used Priceline before and would appreciate any bidding information that I might receive. I think I would like to stay in the Downtown area close to the cruise port. I someone has a better suggestion I am certainly open to another area also.

I was looking for help on the Priceline as well that is why I posted the one message at the top under Priceline-Florida
Understood, but please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. If you ultimately use priceline we'll then move this entire thread to that section of the board.

We've given our best guess as to the hotel above... now you can weigh that vs. the 'unknown' of using priceline. Let us know if you want to go with the HOTWIRE hotel above or if you'd rather bid on priceline... if you decide you want to try priceline we'll suggest a strategy at that time (but little point if researching the rates and typing out a strategy until you decide that is the route you want to take).

I booked the one night 2/9-2/10/08 in Miami at the airport through Hotwire for $59, $14.72 tax and total of $73.72. I called to check for the type of room and have a King, Non-smoking room and all the people at the hotel that I spoke with seemed very friendly and helpful. It is indeed the Holiday Inn but not the Holiday in at the airport on 1111 SO ROYAL POINCIANA BLVD as you might have expected. This is the MIAMI-DORAL AREA Holiday Inn, 3255 N.W. 87TH AVE, MIAMI, FL 33172. It is about 8 miles WEST of the airport and right on the border line of the area map for Hotwire. They do offer a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport but not to the port of Miami. I have not been able to find any reviews on it and am not sure if there are any resturaunts in the immediate area either. It is a little farther away that I had hoped for but as long as its a secure area I think it will be ok. All and all the experience was a good one and I think next time I might try Priceline also. If you have any info on this hotel I would love to know what to expect and if not I will report when I return.

Thanks for the advice :)

I used the HOTWIRE link also
