positivetension
Hi,First time poster here. I'm trying to look for a 3* place in NYC between 5/30/07 to 6/3/07. We are a party of three people and looking for two beds in the Manhattan area. We are students so looking for around $200 but willing to go up $250. Suggestions?I'll be using Priceline via the link at SavingsBarn.com Link to comment
AaronJB
Unfortunately, Priceline would not guarantee you two beds, and there's a strong likelyhood in NYC that you would only get 1 bed. Link to comment
thereuare
Priceline only guarantees double occupancy, so trying for more than that (in NYC) can be risky. HOTWIRE allows you to search for up to quad occupancy, but a current search doesn't show anything in your price range (or worthwhile, imo).Assuming one bed and a pullout couch is acceptable, here's an option in your price range, but you'll need to search each as 2adults/1child (otherwise the price goes up slightly if going for 3adults).Beekman Tower has the 1BR suite for $230/nite, but it is sold-out for the first nite of your stay (listed as "on request", and this property almost never gives them additional rooms)... but you can change your dates to 5/31-6/3 and book for $230/nite. This reservation would be cancellable up until a few days before your stay. Then go to Quikbook where you can book the Beekman Tower (book the 1BR suite as the Studio suite won't accomodate three of you) for $270/nite. This purchase is non-refundable once purchases. So the math:$230/nite x 3 nites + $270/nite x 1 nite = $240/niteReviews of the property are very good.Does this work for your needs? positivetension
A sofabed is fine. However, even with 2 adults and 1 child, they give me a rate of $269. But when I enter 2 adults, the $230 rate is there. Should there be any problems if I book with 2 adults? Link to comment
thereuare
There shouldn't be... we've had others book this way before and have not heard of any reported issues (although this has to be something that you're comfortable with doing).
