alycat
I have read the "rebidding explained" and found this to be helpful but would like some more advice before I start bidding. I was hoping to bid up to $160 for 4* do you thing this will be too low? Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! Are you looking for one room for all thee or you? That could be an issue as Priceline only guarantees double occupancy, after that it is at the discretion of the hotel. You could get a room with only one bed and no room for a rollaway (NYC hotel rooms are notorioulsy small). Some people take the risk... others won't.HOTWIRE does allow you to search for up to quad occupancy, but when doing so everything appears to be higher than your budget.Let us know your thougths and we'll take it from there. alycat
thank you for getting back to me. I have been reading through the forums have gathered that but I think we will take the chance so if you could guide me through the process i would be very happy. Link to comment
thereuare
Based upon current rates I'm doubtful that $160 will be enough for these dates, but it never hurts to give it a try. We'll start with MTE, MTW and UM/CPS since those are the most 'central' zones and most popular with the typical tourist. Look at these zones before bidding and let us know if you have a problem with any of them. When bidding 4* in NYC you have two re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTW...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zoen...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-acess priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zoen...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-acess priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zoen...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-acess priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTE...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zoen...Bid $145, if rejected close browser and re-acess priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zoen...Bid $145, if rejected close browser and re-acess priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zoen...Bid $160.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. alycat
Thank you, think I will give it a go tonight and will let you know how I get on. Just another thing based on your expertise on this subject, what do think my chances are of getting a room that my son will be able to sleep in also. Link to comment
thereuare
I can't put a percentage on receiving a room that will accomodate triple occupancy... in NYC it's a risk.
