mtc
Have not had any luck yet with 3/19-3/22 $60 for LAX. First tried 4 star LAX, then 3 star (which I expected to get). Will keep trying after 24 hour wait. I see others getting this price around these dates but have not yet gotten it myself. Any suggestions? Link to comment
thereuare
If you check the Sheraton or Westin websites you'll see that both reported 4* hotels in this zone are sold-out for your stay. I then looked at a few of the 3* properties and while not sold-out, rates were much higher than usual.HOTWIRE does have a 3.5* hotel in the LAX zone for $95... so maybe another $10-$20 at the 3* level on priceline may do the trick? Are you flexible with zone, star rating, or budget? mtc
After 24 hour wait on Priceline, I tried $60 4*, $60 3*, and finally $65 3* (added Manhattan/Redondo), all failed. I booked EasyClickTravel Crowne Plaza for $70 but have to wait to hear from them if available. If not I'll go to $70 or more on Priceline. 75 is the most I would like to pay for 3* or 85 for 4*. thereuare
As much as I love EasyClickTravel and recommend them often frequently on the board, I don't recommend trying for hotels that show availability as "on request" (vs. "Available") this close to your stay... they state they'll get back to you within 48 hours with an answer, but it often takes up to 72 hours, which would leave you with little time to continue your bidding and/or find another suitable alternative. mtc
Oops, oh well. I guess I'll call them to check on it if I don't hear within 48 hours. I do have a fall back of last resort, so I will have something, but would prefer this or a Priceline booking. Link to comment
mtc
Got $70 EasyClickTravel confirmed for this booking. I called, no big wait time on phone, spoke to representative, told me he would have an answer in a couple of hours, and sent me confirmation within 2 hours! $240 w/tax and fees. It was very easy, a good price, and I am very pleased! Link to comment
