SteveC
Hi, If I want to be guaranteed a hotel with some beachspace, is there a bidding strategy? So long as it's a touristy area of Hawaii, and a 4*+ hotel, I'm happy.Dates are the 28th of March to the 6th of April. Link to comment
thereuare
Are you looking at Big Island or any of the Hawaiian Islands? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
SteveC
Any of them. I'm just looking for a nice hotel on a beach. Shopping district nearby would be good, but I can get a car :) To be honest, I live in the UK and have no idea about any of the resorts other than Oahu's Waikiki beach area. Link to comment
thereuare
You should probably do a bit of research first on your own to determine which Island(s) you want to visit, as they each are quite different and have their own personality. With priceline at the 4* level you won't be able to ensure that you'll be on a beach. However, if you search HOTWIRE the icons will tell you if the hotel is Beachfront or has Beach Access, so if this is a requirement then HOTWIRE may be a better option for you. If you see any hotels that meet your criteria (star rating and price range) then we can be about trying to help you identify them. LoneStar
In reality are there any 4-star hotels in Hawaii NOT on the beach? Except perhaps something in Waikiki ACROSS from the beach, I don't think you'll find one.I agree that the OP needs to do some "destination research" before bidding, however. Frommers.com would be a reasonable place to start. Link to comment

SteveC
I guess my query was more whether this was a possibilty to bid in this way. I've only ever used priceline before, I'll have a try with hotwire and see how I get on. Thanks. The problem is that I know nothing about the various islands, it's the weather I'm interested in :)Thanks for all the feedback, I'll be back to ask for a strategy soon :) Link to comment
