  1. I'm here at the hotel now. It is gorgeous. Also, I was given a king room, overlooking the courtyard (I believe I read it costs extra to get a courtyard view) as well as access to the concierge lounge. I did not ask for these upgrades. I keep forgetting to get over to the car rental section of the board, so in case I don't make it there, Alamo upgraded me to a convertible for only 10 more dollars per day. Total for a convertible was 30/day. I'm loving my stay in San Antonio :) Thank you Better Bidding! I'm telling everyone about you!
  2. Hello- Newbie who won a Priceline bid for the Marriott Plaza (4*) for $65 a night, however, I didn't know that I could only extend my stay the number of nights I won. My total stay is 5 nights May 30- June 4, however as of right now I only have a room for 2 nights, May 30- June 1. I need 3 more nights. I'd really love to get in the South area - preferably at Hotel Contessa. If anyone has tips, please let me know. Here's the catch: I am traveling with other business colleagues (we do not need to stay at the same hotel), but I will need to stay within a similar price point. I believe with our corporate rate, they are staying for 90/night (but are not staying in a prime location). Can you help?
  3. The dates of my stay are May 30 and June 1. I went through Better Bidding's site to get to PRICELINE. Let me also mention that I later went and won a Premium car rental for $20/day (again, clicking Priceline through Better Bidding's site). Alamo picked it up. For this being my first time, I'm not sure if this is a great deal or not, however, the published rates were QUITE a bit higher. I tried for a convertible, but their published rates were $99/day and up. Wow, why? Thanks Better Bidding!
  4. First time using Priceline, and thanks to this site, I had the guts to try it. Bidding criteria: 4 star only Riverwalk area only 65 dollar bid Received Mariott Plaza. Sweet deal, right? The hotel itself looks amazing. 24 dollar parking will drive up the price, and this particular hotel charges for $12-13 internet. Not as good as it looks, but still better than the rates for this same hotel on other sites. I read somewhere to only book one night and then to add more nights at the same rate after winning. Unfortunately, I didn't take into account that I need to be there 5 days, and the add-on feature only allows you to add nights up to the number you bid. UH OH :) I'd really love to get in the South area - preferably at Hotel Contessa. If anyone has tips, please let me know. I am traveling with other business colleagues (we do not need to stay at the same hotel), but I will need to stay within a similar price point.
