Was completely convinced that this was the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites at NC State SW, but it ended up being the Wingate. Was bidding for weeks, wanted either downtown or Pikes, was doing 3.5 and 4* around 72 nothing worked. Was under the gun did $72 which was rejected then added 3* and went up to $78 and was accepted. Looks like a nice hotel, however a bit of a walk from most things, but free shuttle and good reviews on tripadvisor. Called right after the win and requested 2 double beds, desk person was friendly and said we already had that room. So good to go!

It's race weekend so everywhere is way more expensive than normal. Best Internet Rate was $89. Thanks to better bidding I was 99% positive this was the Days Inn Wilkes Barre, which it was! Amenities: * complimentary breakfast * high speed internet

Started at $77 as a 3.5* Conv Center - Capitol Hill was listed as a deal for $77 - which was most likely the Renaissance Washington, so tried that, failed (and they should take the ad down as I did the exact dates as the ad stated). Bumped to $82 and added White House - Downtown, accepted.

Tried a bunch of bids for 3* in the area including Airport, Secaucus, Elizabeth all in the $40's and $50's with no luck. Finally bumped it up and included 2.5* and got this.

Was just really fooling around for a 3* and hit it first shot, average cost through other websites was around $180 per night, so its a good deal! Areas picked were Cathedral Hill and the Wharf. Tried various lowballs for fishermans wharf through Priceline, all failed. On Hotwire, 4* was coming up around $175 with 1 room, went down to $116 for 2 rooms. Amenities matched the Argonaut, and even if that wasn't it would have been the Sheraton, but really wanted the Argonaut, and that's what I got! Very highly rated (#4 out of 263) by members of tripadvisor, a local friend says its a very cool place also. Looking forward to my stay!

5/20 Tried $51 then said try another $14 so I did and it took it. 4 Points Sheraton, Doesnt sound too great based on tripadvisor reviews, price is right however.
