  1. Amenities are: Free Internet Free parking Boutique hotel Golf nearby Restaurant(s) Slopeside Smoke-free rooms Accessible path of travel This is a nice hotel with a beautiful view. A bit out of the way but not a problem for us. Happy with the reveal.
  2. Amenities: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Golf nearby, Accessible path of travel Accessibility: Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower I've stayed here before -- great location. OK price for the time of year and what I would have to pay otherwise. Thanks for the info in figuring out the hotel before I booked it :-).
  3. Absolutely no amenities were listed for this hotel. I picked it anyway as it was rated high by Hotwire (85%). Looks like a pretty good hotel for this price range, and I am happy with the deal.
  4. Thanks for the info. Here is the full set: Hotel Amenities Free breakfast Free Internet Indoor pool(s) Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access Accessibility Accessible for visually impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower
  5. Downtown - Queen Anne, Belltown, Seattle Center, Space Needle area All-suite-hotel Amenities: Business center Fitness center Free Internet Free breakfast Indoor pool(s) Pool(s) Self-service laundry Smoke-free rooms With fees and taxes included, it came to $544, a whopping savings or $8.60 over booking directly with the hotel. I am fine with the hotel, just feel ripped off by those big Hotwire fees. According to their web site, it's not a suite, either, just a small partition between the bed and sofa.
  6. This was a last-minute buy as we wanted to extend our weekend trip to Spokane and move from our budget hotel closer to downtown. Amenities: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Airport shuttle, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower. They are in the process of upgrading this hotel to their top-of-the-line brand. So a bit of work going on, but nothing disruptive. Beautiful location, and our room had a view of the river. We borrowed their bikes to go for a spin in the park.
  7. I booked this on April 6. Amenities: Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower. The Banff Park Lodge is a great hotel in a perfect location, right in the middle of things. I thought I knew what it was before I purchased it because in the reviews people mentioned the great in-town location. I used the Better Bidding Hotwire link to purchase.
  8. It actually turned out great. The hotel was modest but clean, and a continental breakfast was unexpectedly included.
  9. Amenities: Free Parking Free Internet Pet Friendly Smoke-free Rooms Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Internet Access Said that the last person got the King Edward Hotel, but got this hotel instead. Not in the best location, but a good deal for a Saturday during ski season.
  10. I put in a bid of $80 for a 3* in Lethbridge and Priceline let me bump up the bid to $94 and submit again. This was still better than the $100 I was looking at for a Hotwire hotel, so I went ahead. Happy with the reveal -- the hotel has both free breakfast and free wifi and is in a good location for our activities.

  13. Booked this hotel comfortable that it had an 85% positive rating from hotwire users. However, after I booked it, I am seeing what looks like the same listing (but with price $108 rather than $110) saying that they are still gathering feedback. I wish I had better trust in what Hotwire is doing behind the scenes. Crazy fees added on -- $90.71 on top of the $330 hotel rate. Even so, a better rate than is otherwise available. Happy with the win in any case. Ellen
  14. I can no longer see the list of amenities from before I paid, but here are the amenities on my receipt: Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower I am happy with the win. Thanks for the resource!
  15. This was a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. I didn't select an area but rather searched for hotels in Martinsville. Amenities: Free Breakfast Free Internet in room Indoor Swimming Pool Free Parking Pets Allowed Business Center Fitness Center Guest Score 8.0 / 10 The hotel was offered elsewhere for $140. Relieved to find a hotel at any price in Indianapolis this busy Gencon weekend.
  16. I bid a few times on Priceline (3* at $52, 2-1/2* at $44, and 2* at $38) with no success. Then I zeroed in on this 2* express deal. The amenities were: Free Breakfast Indoor or Outdoor Pool Free Parking Pets Allowed Business Center Bed Choice Available. It listed free internet when it gave the bed choices. I thought I identified it as the Executive Lodge primarily because of the bed choice option, and realized that with the fees added on, the deal was comparable to the AAA discount direct with the hotel. ($5 less than going direct with the hotel, or the same if you pay for the insurance.) I decided to go with priceline anyway, as they have all my contact and payment info already. I spent way too much time on this for not much of a deal.
  17. I can no longer see the amenities that were listed when I got this, but my priceline account list the following rather exhaustive list of amenities. Sorry I didn't do this at the time. Accessible facilities Accessible room Air conditioning Baggage hold Brailed elevators Business center Business services CNN available Cable television Complimentary newspaper delivered to room Connecting rooms ESPN available Elevators Exercise gym Express check-out Fax service Fitness center on-site Free high speed internet connection Free parking HBO available Hairdryer Health club hot breakfast Indoor pool Iron Ironing board Jacuzzi Laundry/Valet service Non-smoking rooms (generic) Outdoor parking Security Spa Wheel chair access Whirlpool
  18. Needed a hotel close to Hoover Dam on a Saturday night, when hotels on the Las Vegas strip were pricey. Very disappointed in this hotwire offering. The hotel was in some disrepair and the room was not at all clean, though it was spacious. Black-out curtains were falling apart. The casino and lobby were smelly with smoke and unavoidable. At check-in, they told me the kids were not to go into the casino, but you had to walk through it to get to the restaurant. After seeing the hotel I wouldn't have wanted to eat there anyway, so we did not explore that part of the hotel. The pool looked quite nice but again not clean. Good location, though not in Boulder City as I had expected. The hotel is about 4 miles out of town, next to Lake Mead and minutes away from Hoover Dam. The amenity list was as follows: Pet friendly Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  19. Was reminded to provide the full list of amenities. They were: Pet friendly Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  20. Deterred by the charges for children in Las Vegas hotels, I selected this 4* at $39. Children included as you specify this in your search. Got Tropicana as I expected. Looks like a great location and you can't beat the price. Amenities: Resort Free Parking Free Internet Casino Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Golf Nearby Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Thanks for the resource and I used the HOTWIRE link.
  21. This hotel was listed with the following amenities: Pet friendly, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center Hotwire also gave a strong hit to the hotel by listing three possible hotels it could be, two of which were in another area of Milwaukee. Very happy with the hotel -- in a great downtown location. We were able to use street parking, free after 6 pm on Saturdays and on Sundays (but check signs) rather than pay the $25 hotel parking fee. Thanks for providing the resource. I used the HOTWIRE link.
  22. Bid two days in a row on a 2-1/2 star, at $55 and $59. Both times I was offered the deal if I raised my bid to $72. Instead, I went to the express deals section and got the hotel at $69. Wish for a better deal but you win some and you lose some. BTW, I used the PRICELINE link.
  23. After trying unsuccessfully using the PRICELINE link to get a 3-1/2* + downtown hotel for under $100, I set my sight on Eagan, a community about 15 min S of the Twin Cities, and equidistant from St. Paul & Minneapolis. I started bidding at $41, then rebid using re-bid zones at $48 and then $51, getting the Holiday Inn at $51. Despite the super low price, I was mildly disappointed by the hotel. The thin walls and lumpy comforters and pillows made for rough nights. They say they are in the midst of a renovation and I'd wait for that to complete before staying there again.
  24. Started at $75, got offer to retry at $87. Added Midway N as rebid zone, at $80 and got the offer. Saw later that someone else had a similar experience earlier starting at a lower bid and ended up with a lower rate, but I was still happy with the win. I used the PRICELINE link. Thanks!!
  25. I actually made a series of unsuccessful bids, using the "rebid zones" strategy I learned about here. I bid 8 times for a 4* going from $50 to $98, then 5 times for 3-1/2*, going from $61 to $93, then three times for 3*, going from $71 to $87. I was able to bid multiple times by successively adding zones that didn't have the star-level that I was looking for. For example, there was only one zone with a 4*, but I bid 8 times, knowing that if I got a hit it would have to be in that zone. After my unsuccessful bids, I decided to take the 'express deal' offer from priceline, where they give you the price but not the hotel. It was for a zone outside of the zones I was targeting, but acceptable to me. I decided to take that one rather than rebid in this zone and possibly get something with a lower rating. Thanks for the reminder - I did indeed use the PRICELINE link but failed to mention it :-).
