This was not your usual Super-8. It was a true hotel and not at all like a motel. Definitely one of the better 2* hotels I've stayed in recently. It was right next to two higher-class hotels so it had to be much better than it's name is known for. Super-8 should start using qualifiers in their name like Best Western does with "plus" and "premier." This one could have easily been a Super 8 Plus. Considering what hotels in the area were going for, the $26 savings was a pretty big win.
Booked the 3* Best Western Plus in Rockville for an $85 bid. + $18.56 tax = total $103.56
Priceline listed rate for the Best Western is $149.99 + $20.78 tax = total $170.77. So the bidding saved $67.21!

Started by bidding on a 3.5* Rockville hotel. Starting bid was $75. Added free re-bid zones until I got to $100. Nothing accepted.
Started over by bidding on a 3* Rockville hotel. Starting bid was $74. Immediately received a $94 counter offer. First free re-bid at $78, not accepted, second free re-bid $85 was accepted.

$52.00 bid accepted +14.80 taxes and fees =66.80 total Bids of $46 and $50 were rejected, then $52 was accepted. I tried bidding for 3.5* in Greenbelt first up to $60, and nothing was accepted. Then I started over, bidding for 3* instead.
