Thanks, hohogap, I was hoping for something a little more central so I tried my luck with another round of Priceline. 4* Champs Elysees - Opera Quarter West @ $150 added Opera Quarter East - Les Halles @ $160 added St. Germain - Latin Quarter - Montparnasse @ $165 added Eiffel Tower - Porte De Versailles - Montparnasse @ $170 Success! Sort of... I got the Pullman Paris Rive Gauche. So much for "central". Oh well, roll of the dice, right? The location isn't ideal but the hotel looks very nice.

Sorry I wasn't clear. It was retail as I needed the specific location given our late arrival and cruise the next day.

In the end, given our time frame and needs, location became the #1 factor. I booked the Boscolo Bellini through HOTWIRE for $237. I opted for the Superior room over the Deluxe hoping for a better view and to avoid some of the problems experienced by recent reviewers on TripAdvisor. It was an extra $30 but at this point I'm already in so deep with the credit card... Revisiting Paris and Priceline tomorrow...

After viewing some of the posts here I tried the following: 4* Opera Quarter East - Les Halles @ $120 added Champs Elysees - Opera Quarter West @ $130 added Eiffel Tower - Porte De Versailles - Montparnasse @ $130 added St. Germain - Latin Quarter - Montparnasse @ $140 I assume I'm just not offering enough. I don't want any other zone so I guess I'll wait 24 hours and try again starting at $150.

Thank you! This morning it appears that the same place is down to $174. Unfortunately, for us the location is a bit too out of the way and far from the cruise docks. I think I'll revisit PRICELINE (via your link, of course).

Hotwire has a 4* Venice area hotel list for $196 per night for 6/26. Amenities include breakfast, restaurant(s) and high-speed internet. It is recommended by 90% of Hotwire users and has 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor. For the same night I just bid $150 for 5* on Priceline and not surprisingly lost. If I can ID the Hotwire and it doesn't excite me then I'll probably add 4* to my PL re-bid. Thanks in advance!
