  1. It took some doing but I landed the Wyndham for $58. I knew from researching the site that a 3.5* at the airport would either be the Wyndham or the Crowne. I started at $42, then went to $46, then on a 2nd computer tried $52, and $56 -- and that was when the bank shut off my card for suspicious activity. I talked to the bank, waited 24 hours and got the $58 bid. Friends traveling with us thought it was such a good deal they had to get in on it and got the same rate about 10 minutes after we did. Wyndham Indianapolis West 3
  2. The dates of my stay will be 8/4/10 - 8/8/10. I will try and post back afterward if there are any unexpected issues with the booking.
  3. As recently posted by others. Room rate was $49 per night, plus taxes and fees. Amenities Smoke Free Rooms Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access
  4. July 4-8 2007, $79 a night. I initially bid $59 to see if they'd bite, and they didn't. So I added a 4 star at the airport (there are none) to change my bid. Same price I got it through Hotwire for a few years ago, except I didn't see HW offering any 4 stars downtown this year. Now to go buy my $10 plane ticket through Skybus! Dawn
  5. Now that the trip is over, I just wanted to follow up on this hotel. It's the Hyatt, and it's everything you expect from the Hyatt, very classy, with helpful and friendly staff. We received a standard room (choice of king or 2 double beds) when we checked in. This particular location is small, one of the smallest 'big name' hotels I've stayed in, only a few small sitting areas in the lobby but it was still very nice. Special note for budget travelers: the hotel is attached to a downtown mall. Within 1 minute walking of the lobby you can be at the mall food court. I noted quite a few 'lunch' type places to eat. There was also the City Diner, suggested by the staff, which had decent food for under $5 a plate. It was convenient for a quick, cheap breakfast. I would book this hotel again.
  6. Booked for 6/29 - 7/4 : Hyatt on Capitol Square 75 East State Street Columbus, Ohio 43215 (614) 228-1234 Selected Amenities Include: Restaurant(s), Fitness Center, Business Center. The best rate the Hyatt offered at the time was $119 per night, the best alternate rate I could find was $105 per night, and Hotwire got me $79 per night minus a $10 discount with the "GIFTCARD06" coupon code, making it $69 per. Total rate with taxes comes to $83. Not bad for a 4* on a crowded event weekend when most of the rest of downtown is simply sold out. I guessed correctly, after looking at the hotels + car options. Thanks for that tip. And thanks for the great site. Very educational and informative. I found you through Usenet, btw.
