  1. Hi thereuare

Fantastic job at administering this website :)

Must admit I completely agree with your wife!! Must be a female thing... ha ha

I also thought I'd email Hotwire.com to confirm - not that I didn't trust you guys but I was hoping to get somthing in writing just in case my plan backfires!! They've kindly responded with the following:

    ------

Thank you for contacting Hotwire regarding transmission type for car

    rentals.

For US and Canadian car rentals all of our car rentals come with

automatic transmissions. If you are booking for other countries we list

if the car rental is a manual transmission or not.

If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to reply to this

email or contact us directly at 1-866-HOTWIRE (468-9473). Thank you for

    visiting Hotwire.

    -----------

    Happy Driving!

  2. Hi everyone

It's my first time to Vegas - can't wait.

I was hoping the forum could advise whether it would be better to wait to book for these nights or book now? We're prepared to be pretty flexible with accomodation and in an ideal world we would like to get away with a bargain of $120 per night or a bit more. The Monte Carlo already has $120 pn for these dates. Are they likely to keep dropping?

The only requirement we have for accomodation is a room with two beds as I'm travelling with my Mum (or Mom as you guys say in the US!). A location on strip would also be fantastic so we can cram as much in as possible. Neither Mum nor I are gamblers so the casino facilities aren't really a concern. A great pool would be a real plus.

Fortunately the nights we're in LV are Sunday-Tuesday and it doesn't look like there are many conventions on yet at that time.

The hotels I really like the look of are NYNY, Paris, Monte Carlo, Venetian, Aladdin and The Hotel at Mandalay Bay (pet food (!) conference on there on the last night I think).

Alternatively we were considering a suite so that we can avoid the huge meals 3 times a day. The Carriage House gets great reviews on tripadvisor.com for relatively little $$.

What does everyone think? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

  3. Hi everyone

I was wondering whether hotwire.com offers represent automatic cars or it's up to the rental car companies to decide when you arrive?

Unfortunately I'll be driving on the other side of the road to what I'm used to and combining that with a manual might be a bit too much!

    Thanks for any help.

    Cheers from Down Under

  4. Amenities as listed:

    Pool, Fitness Facilities, Golf Nearby

    Sheraton website rate is $169pn.

I'm pretty pleased about this hotwire purchase. It's the Saturday night of the Columbus Day long weekend and very few places on the Cape take one night bookings so to get a pretty nice place at a good rate was great.

Reviews on Tripadvisor.com aren't that great but the photos on the Sheraton website look nice - looks like it has huge gardens.

    Good luck fellow bidders!

  5. Customer Favourite

Listed Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness Centre, Business Centre

Thought this was a great deal until I looked on their website and you can get a room for $US165. Oh well!

I thought it might have been the Clift or Pan Pacific as this fantastic website as yet doesn't have a list of Nob Hill accomodations but happy with this.

I'm travelling from Australia with my Mother and we are really excited about staying in an area with all the beautiful old SF houses.

  6. This offer was shown as Braintree-Randolph Region.

Facilities offered: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Facilities, Business Centre and Laundry Facilities

My first post! Love this website. Fantastic that everyone outside the US (I'm Australian) can get so much information before they even arrive.

We're touring New England in the fall - right in the peak season and over Columbus Day weekend so I thought I'd book early.

Very happy with Sheraton at $80pn plus taxes. The lowest rate on the Sheraton website is $US179.
