Just bought a last minute rental with Payless Car Rental on PRICELINE. I'm local and my car is broke. I tried bidding $10/day for an Economy for the same dates, but it was rejected. There were named offers for $14/day Economy and $15/day Compact, so I just upgraded to the Compact. Not too bad for the weekend before Xmas!

HOTWIRE was showing $12.95/day hot Rate for my dates, so I tried $10/day at PRICELINE and got it the first time. Probably could have bid less, but I still saved $9 over HOTWIRE. I'm also stoked about getting National, as I may get an upgrade with my Emerald Club membership.
