  1. Hmm.. Maybe it's the Holiday Inn Express Saint Augustine North?
  2. Can't find this hotel in the list: $102/night for selected dates. 100% Recommended Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Indoor Pool(s), Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Self-Service Laundry It's the "indoor pool" that's throwing me for a loop, because i'm having trouble finding any hotels in that area that have indoor pools.
  3. First -- the Chicago area priceline zones must have changed. This hotel is in the La Grange, IL zone, which doesn't appear to exist in the betterbidding.com database. $45 bid was rejected, added a rebid-zone and upped my bid to $50 which was accepted. I had a backup-reservation with this exact hotel (Best Western Countryside)at $64/night, so while it's not a HUGE savings compared to some deals i've scored, over 5 nights the savings will add up.
  4. Well, trying a few things it displays fine in internet explorer but for some reason in firefox all of the subtitles are replaced with "Priceline and Hotwire Forum - Betterbidding.com" CTRL-F5 has no effect on this in firefox.
  5. Hey -- Haven't been traveling recently so I haven't been on betterbidding.com for awhile. But I recently started doing some research for an upcoming trip and noticed that winning bid prices had been deleted in all the forums? What happened? Cheers, Steve
  6. Done. Regarding my original post, I no longer need the room but i'm pretty sure my guess of the Sheraton Suites must be right.
  7. After further research on the forum I see a win for a 3.5* at the Sheraton Suites. Maybe it has been re-categorized? (and moved to the Market Center - Love Field group instead of south downtown - market center group.)
  8. Looking at Hotwire booking 7/29 - 8/1. 4* hotel with amenities listed below. The only 4* in the better-bidding list was the Hilton Anatole and it looks like it could be it, EXCEPT for the "Suite" amenity. Anybody familiar with Dallas hotels in that area? Suite Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Free Internet Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
  9. Booked two rooms via the betterbidding.com PRICELINE link for a business trip to Athens. I had reservations at the Holiday Inn up the street at $85/night so not a HUGE savings compared to some priceline deals i've gotten in the past, but with two rooms and two nights it does add up. Plus the Courtyard had free parking and breakfast (and internet), i'm not sure the Holiday Inn had either. It was a last minute bid, placed on the morning of arrival. Bidding was simple, I bid $60/night based on recent historical wins posted at $59/night.
  10. Follow up: What a great hotel! Relatively new and has a clean, modern design. Hardwood floors in the guest rooms and really big walk-in shower in the bathroom. Everyone on the staff was super friendly and there's a nightly happy hour (5pm-6:30pm I think) at the bar where beer (Yuengling Lager) and house wines (cabernet, merlot, or chardonnay) are FREE to hotel guests. Even at full rate, this hotel would be tough to beat, and at a $54 it seemed like a steal. There is a $10/day parking fee but I drank at least that much free beer. :)
  11. Booked 2 rooms for one night. Easy win. Placed first bid at $54 based on recent win history. There are no rebid zones and I had no time to wait to bid again so couldn't risk attempting a lower bid. Hotwire rate was $69, so i'm pretty happy at $54. I used the PRICELINE link, of course.
  12. I thought I did but apparently my bookmark is out of date. I've updated to the one you've referenced. Thanks!
  13. Easy win. Based on forum evidence I expected to get $65 and there are PLENTY of rebid zones so started at $45 and worked up by $5. Won it for $65 just as expected.
  14. I was prepared with 2 rebid zones but my first bid of $60 was accepted! I guess I should have started at $50! I'm pretty happy with $60 though because the Travelocity rate is $209+tax for 9/12 Oh, and this bid is evidence that the red-flagged "your bid has a small chance of being accepted" means very little. This zone was red-flagged up to $75 -- and it almost made me raise my first bid but I decided to stick with my plan and start at $60.
  15. Econolodge Arena 1075 Wilkes-Barre Twp. Blvd. SR 309 , Wilkes Barre, PA, US, 18702 I've stayed at Econolodges that were so-so in terms of quality but this one is really pretty nice. Sure, it's still an Econolodge, but it is pretty new, very clean, staff was friendly, and the continental breakfast was decent. Free Wi-Fi as well as a computer near the lobby for guest use. There's a Comfort Inn right next door (in the same parking lot) with a restaurant/lounge (in case you like to get a beer before bed like I do) and several other places to eat nearby.
  16. Bid $35 on 4/5 for 2 star in Wilkes Barre. Rejected. Rebid on the day of the reservation (4/9) at $38 for 2*. Rejected. Rebid at $45 for 1*. Bid accepted at Econolodge Wilkes Barre (this should be added to the PA priceline list). I used the savingsbarn.com link on my first bid but I may have screwed it up by rebidding through the link in my e-mail from priceline. I suppose I might have gotten it cheaper if I would have started with the 1*, but who knows? My back-up reservation at another hotel was $77+taxes so I was pretty happy. I also posted a REVIEW
  17. I'm not a local, but you might find this handy: http://www.thrall.net/maps/mbta.html Which is a google map with all the boston subway lines and stations marked. You could open it side by side with the priceline hotel map on this site and get a pretty good idea of the possiblities.
  18. Perhaps, but I checked the link at savingsbarn.com today and it is still the same as yesterday. So, it doesn't appear to change for every session. Although it's true that it could change without notice. Anyhow, thanks for all your help. I've easily saved over $1000 (unfortunately it's all company money anyhow) using priceline, mostly due to the "rebid zone" tricks and hotel lists that I've found here. I've also bookmarked your support page so i'll use your links for any travel-related web traffic.
  19. Okay, from the previous thread after I booked my friday night room at Hotel@MIT: Wow. I bid up to 170 for a four-star in any area but Copley. And then bid 3* all the way up to $170 for any area except Copley and Airport. I made backup reservations at the Airport Holiday Inn for $170. I may try starting over with Copley 4* (and then 3*) or I might just wait until a few days before my trip and start over to see if anything opened up. I'm totally unfamilar with Boston except for a few trips to Cambridge, and then I drove from PA so I didn't even set foot in the city or airport. The only reason I left out Copley area is that it wasn't in the direct line between Cambridge (where I will friday night and saturday during the day) and the airport (where I need to be Sunday morning for a 10am flight). I was hoping to get someplace downtown so it would make for a more interesting Sat evening than sitting in an airport hotel. But then again, maybe going from Cambridge - Copley - Airport wouldn't be so bad with public transportation. Any folks familar with Boston got any advice? So, I started off this morning bidding 4* in Copley. Started at $75 and rebid up to $130 and was rejected. Next bid, of $150, was accepted at the Sheraton Boston. So, not a FANTASTIC price like I can usually find but based on my experiences bidding everywhere in Boston for a 4* or even a 3*, it's probably the best i'm going to do. After taxes and fees, I probably saved $40 or $50 bucks over the rate for the Sheraton, getting it for pretty much the same price as my backup reservation at the Holiday-Inn, but definitely a better location and probably a better hotel. And it's only about 1.5 miles from the Hotel@MIT which will make a short taxi ride or an easy walk. I remembered to use the savingsbarn.com link to PRICELINE, too. In fact, i've replaced my priceline.com bookmark with the link copied from savings barn.
  20. Wow. I bid up to 170 for a four-star in any area but Copley. And then bid 3* all the way up to $170 for any area except Copley and Airport. 21. Yeah, things seem pretty tight in Boston that weekend. I just bid (and rebid, and rebid) up to $150 for a 4* Downtown, Airport, or Cambridge with no luck. I didn't see any info on the Priceline hotel list for hotels in the "World Trade Center Area". Nor do I know how difficult airport transportation is from there. I guess i'll start trying 3* at Logan Airport now.
  22. I started off trying to get both nights at once, started out at $50/night and using the 3 rebid zones got up to $100/night which was rejected. Then I started a new bid at the 3* level and also rebid up to $100 and had it rejected. Then I started back with 4* for Friday only and had bids at 60, 75, and 95 rejected before winning at $105. I forgot all about the savingsbarn.com links -- i'll use them when I'm going after a room for Sat night. Thanks!
  23. Cambridge isn't usually so bad but occupancy seems to be very high that weekend.
  24. Had a bit of trouble getting this one compared to past trips to Cambridge. I wanted Fri and Saturday night but looking online the only room available at the Hotel@MIT for Saturday is the Pres. Suite at $960/night! So, I split the nights and got Friday night for $105. There must be something going on in Cambridge that weekend. I'll post again when I get something for Sat. I'm considering downtown or airport locations since my plans for Sunday are just to catch a flight home. Plus i've never seen anything in Boston outside of Cambridge!
  25. Started off at $35 for a 2.5* and used 3 rebid zones to go up by $5 until bid was accepted at $50+tax. Note that the Hilton Garden Inn is not on the current Priceline list here. I suppose it should be added? Should be a nice hotel at a great price. If they let me park my car there (even if there is a fee) while i'm out of town for 4 days it will be PERFECT -- I'm getting a room because I have a late flight arriving into BWI and want to avoid the 3-4 hour drive home in the middle of the night.
