  1. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $45.00 Subtotal: $135.00 Taxes & Fees: $25.44 Total Charges: $160.44 Selected both Disneyland zones and started at $40. Counteroffer of $10. Used the free rebids and went up $1 per zone. No luck. Started over the next day at $43 and accepted at $45. Bid for a relative who stayed here previously on a PRICELINE win and they said that they preferred the Doubletree to the Crowne Plaza Anaheim due to the free lobby WiFi, complimentary cookies, and less-crowded hotel, parking and Disney shuttle.
  2. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $41.00 Subtotal: $41.00 Taxes & Fees: $12.44 Total Charges: $53.44 Figured I would get Doubletree or Crowne Plaza. Started bidding at $39 and counteroffer and declined. Rebid in $1 increments until accepted at $41. Very good reviews on TripAdvisor. $13/day parking, but sounds like no resort fees fortunately. Free shuttle to Disneyland and complimentary cookies that get rave reviews.
  3. Your Offer Price: $51.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $51.00 Taxes and Fees: $13.20 Total Charges: $64.20 Started at $40 and worked up to $44 and counteroffer of $12. Accepted at $51. Was hoping to get the Courtyard since it seemed to be coming up a lot lately. Radisson gets fairly positive reviews. Cross fingers.
  4. Hotel rate per night - Hotwire hot Rate:$57.00 Nights:2 Rooms:1 Sub-Total:$114.00 Tax recovery charges and fees:$20.70 Total price:$134.70 Amenities: Fitness, Restaurant, Pool, Business Center, Laundry, High-Speed Internet 80% Customers Liked It Booked for family. Identified it as the Crowne Plaza. Choice was to use Priceline and to possibly different hotel or be fairly certain it would be the Crowne Plaza, which they stayed in before. The big advantage to the CP is that the $12 resort fee includes in/out parking, Internet, pool/fitness and a free Disneyland shuttle. Other hotels charge $7-8+ per person including kids for the shuttle. That'd be a hefty charge for 2 adults and 2 kids.
  5. Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Hi-Speed Internet, Laundry Adding in the amenities listed for the La Quinta.
  6. Hotel rate per night - Hotwire hot Rate: $64.00 Nights: 3 Rooms: 1 Subtotal: $192.00 Tax recovery charges and fees: $29.16 Total price: $221.16 Thanks to BB, figured that the amenities was for the La Quinta. Tried bidding 3* on PL and was rejected up to $62 and was given $17 counterbid at $58. At $62 on PL it was then cheaper to buy on Hotwire due to cheaper fees/taxes. From what I have read, PL seems to have moved the La Quinta to 3 stars. Mixed reviews on this property, but it is inexpensive, has free breakfast, free parking and free WiFi. I am going to call and ask if they could move us to a remodeled room. Charleston is one of the more challenging PL and Hotwire cities I have bid in since the downtown hotels are not even that cheap through Hotwire and PL and all the rest of the hotels are still not that cheap or a mixed bag and splattered here and there. Cross my fingers on this one.
  7. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $39.00 Subtotal: $39.00 Taxes & Fees: $12.20 Total Charges: $51.20 Bidding for family members. Saw successful bid of $39 this week for same night. So started at $38, counterbid of $11 offered. Rejected and upped to $39 using Anaheim Hills. Accepted. Family members have stayed here before and thought it was nice. They do charge you a $12 resort fee for parking, facilities, shuttle use outside of PL fees.
  8. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $39.00 Subtotal: $78.00 Taxes & Fees: $18.84 Total Charges: $96.84 Bid $38, denied with counteroffer of $11. Rejected counteroffer and bid $39 with free rebid Culver City added. Accepted at $39. CP website was $90 something without any affiliation. If you had an "Entertainment Card," the website price dropped to ~$46.50 before fees. From posts/searching and the CP site info, I figured that the CP hotel was the most likely 3.5* candidate and at a pretty low price.
  9. Room Subtotal: $43.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $12.84 (USD) Total Room Cost: $55.84 (USD) Bidding for family member. Selected the two Disneyland bidding areas and started at $37 using free rebids till I was rejected at $41. Waited 24 hours and started at $40 and given $12 counteroffer. Rejected and upped bid to $42 using free rebid. Finally accepted at $43. Was expecting Crowne Plaza since it's showed up a lot lately. No free shuttle to Disneyland - a bummer. Marriott site was $107 (w/taxes) with AAA card for comparison.
  10. Bid $41 counteroffer of $12. Rebid at $1 increments accepted at $44. Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $44.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $12.80 (USD) Total Room Cost: $56.80 (USD)
  11. Started at $39 and accepted at $41. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $41.00 Subtotal: $82.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $17.99 Total Charges: $99.99
  12. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $79.00 Subtotal: $79.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $16.35 Total Charges: $95.35 Unfortunately, the two days I wanted in Ashland were not continuous so I could not use the extend offer with my first accepted priceline rate of $70 for 6/15. This day was higher than 6/15 and HOTWIRE was $101/$113.98 w/fees and La Quinta direct was $119 before fees. Started bidding in the $40's. Got up to $74 and offered $22 counter offer. I waited and rebid at $79 and was accepted. For my first night, 6/15, the rebid was accepted around 1/2 the counter offer. This time it was accepted at less than 1/4 of the counter offer. I wonder if would have accepted even less...but either way I saved money. So so 2.5 star rating on TripAdvisor. Wish we had the Holiday Inn Express instead but that was higher...
  13. Just to add, direct LQ price was before taxes/fees, but could not easily see what the final price would be.
  14. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $70.00 Subtotal: $70.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.25 Total Charges: $85.25 I figured at 2.5*, the choices were the La Quinta or the Holiday Inn Express. This one took a lot of rebids since I had some lead time. I started in the $40s and got rejected. I got my first counterbid of $17 at $60.00. I continued to go up in $2 increments. Accepted at $70. Hotwire has these two hotels at their 3* rating and is charging $89, after fees it is $101.51. La Quinta direct was $98.10 AAA or $109.00 no-discount.
  15. I think $175 for Westin TS is better than paying $350 for MTE. You can pay for a lot of taxis between the two areas with the savings!
  16. From what I have read it tends to be tougher and more expensive when trying to find a NYC hotel when checking in on Saturday. I didn't want to split up my stay and drag my bags around since it is only a two night stay. I checked on HOTWIRE and according to amenities, the Millenium UN (good Tripadvisor reviews) was coming up for $209 for my dates, everything else in that category or higher was coming up more expensive. My backup was the Marriott Courtyard Jersey City for two nights $405.84. Even though that hotel gets very good reviews and is right next to a PATH station, I was hoping to get into Midtown for around the same price. I selected CPS, MS, MTE, MTW and TS as my starting areas and used rebids CPS, LI, UES and UWS. I started at $100 and went up by $5 and waited every 24 hours and started again. Accepted at $170. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $170.00 Subtotal: $340.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $65.23 Total Charges*: $405.23
  17. My friend bid on it and I did not see the exact results since we were IMing. He said that the amenities matched what the Westin currently has on the current list: Amenities: Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry.
  18. My colleague got two nights for $55 each for a total of ~$130 with fees and taxes. We tried PRICELINE first to see if we could beat this rate. We started bidding at $35 up to $52 and was rejected each time. It is an excellent deal since the rate on Westin.com was $109/night.
  19. It is called a counteroffer by PL. Often times, PL will accept less than the counteroffer amount. Many people have success at 1/2 the counteroffer or a bit less. Have fun in NYC!
  20. Had backup reservation at Millenium Broadway for $249/$285 all-in. Kept on bidding up to that amount last week with no success for all 4* Midtown areas using rebids. Checked HOTWIRE and saw today a 4* Midtown East available for $213/$249 all-in that was either Intercontinental or GH. GH had $250 cheaper rates than Intercontinental so I figured it was GH. So started with all the areas around Midtown 4* areas and used the free rebids: $170, 180, 185 and success and 190. Hotel Name: Grand Hyatt New York Check-In Date: Friday, September 19, 2008 Check-Out Date: Saturday, Septeber 20, 2008 Your Offer Price: $190.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $190.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $38.88 Total Charges*: $228.88
  21. Not a great price for a 2* but I started out low and worked my way up and $104 was what was finally accepted. I started out at $40 for a 2* JFK and since there are no free rebids, I worked my way up $5 each 24 hour period. At $95, I got counteroffer for $22. Next day, I went up to $100 and got counteroffer for $22 and went up to $104 the next day and got the Best Western Kennedy Airport. Hotwire for the BW was $139 for 3*, the equivalent 2* PL hotels and the regular online travel sites were much higher than that. I guess it is a busy night. TripAdvisor user ratings give it 3.5 stars. However, recent reviews have been excellent. I bid for family who are getting into JFK at 10PM and are going to head into Manhattan early the next morning and stay there the rest of the time and just wanted a cheaper hotel for the short overnight. I called the hotel and the shuttle picks up every 20 minutes for BW, Holiday Inn Express and Day
  22. Cheapest I could find was a compact car at Ontario (ONT) airport was on HOTWIRE for ~$29, so that was my upper limit for PRICELINE. Started bidding at $4, then $5 a day later, and finally accepted at $6/day for a compact at Hertz. Your Offer Price: $6.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 1 days Subtotal: $6.00 Taxes and Fees: $17.55 Total Charges: $23.55
  23. I decided that I would stick to Times Square and Midtown West zones for a 4* hotel due to theater district proximity. I started at $140 and used the free rebids and went up in $5 increments and was denied all the way to $170 when I ran out of rebid zones. I waited 24 hours and started the process at $175. I was denied but offered counteroffer of $25. I used some free rebids to work up to $182 and was denied. I increased to $184 and was accepted. Rate on Travelocity & Expedia was $379/night. From Hotwire and using the list on here, the Millenium seemed to be $279/night and the cheapest of the 4* hotels on Hotwire. Was reading Tripadvisor.com and the reviews are positive (4 out of 5 average) and the location is fantastic. Your Offer Price: $184.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $368.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $70.56 Total Charges: $438.56 And just on a side rant, newer PL users should really read and learn as much as possible on here before posting H-E-L-P. And if you're going to ask for help, put more information than "I need a hotel room in New York City." A plethora of 911s on here lately where the poster never replies or concludes. End rant.
  24. Is someone going to update the NYC bidding zones/hotel lists? Priceline just changed them around in the last week. They split Midtown South into three new zones I believe.
  25. Is there an "Edit Post" feature on older posts? Just want to amend my original post that plans changed and I did not go to Toronto. Hopefully sometime in the near future. Thanks for the help!
