  1. I used the PRICELINE link through Better Bidding. Had a few unsuccessful attempts at $75 to $90 for 4.5 and 4.0 stars between Downtown and Northshore-Stadiums. Kind of lost focus by the time I started the process on 3.5 stars and started with CAD$85 (instead of $75) and won - what're you going to do right? Still happy with the deal though, as that works out to about US$66, and looking at that hotel's rates on PRICELINE for that night, it's US$175. Can't complain about that. :)
  2. Hmmm...I did use the PRICELINE link from this board to start my travel purchase when I bid on this last night.
  3. When I check this hotel for the same time frame, it's listed for CAD$178/night, so I'm quite happy with my CAD$87/night. Also, I heard Crystal City is a nice neighbourhood, and it's close to the hotel, so big bonus. It gets a 9.2/10 Priceline guest rating; 4.5/5 Tripadvisor rating; and Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence. Certainly have nothing to complain about with this win. Amenities listed: Free Internet (public area) Shuttle Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap Accessible Business Center
  4. Thanks for all the help! This is a great site! Will definitely come in handy as I am entering a phase where I will travel a little more often. :)
  5. I had a couple of questions, if anyone could be so kind as to lend their knowledge. So in my case I bid $120 and got the Hotel Felix, but Priceline of course has various 4* hotel suppliers. My question is, if I would have gone in with $150 or $175 to start, would Priceline have negotiated for a different costlier 4* hotel or would I have automatically gotten Hotel Felix for $150 or $175 ? That's the thing I don't quite understand. Anyone know? Also, off topic, can anyone tell me at Wrigley Field (because I want to watch the Cubs-Yankees game that weekend) what is the difference between regular seats and seats that have "RESERVED" as part of their section description. For example, they have Terrace Box Infield and Terrace Reserved Infield, or Upper Deck Box Infield and Upper Deck Reserved Infield. What's the difference? All tickets still have a section/seat number assigned. :)
  6. So our group really wanted something in the Mag Mile area, so I kept trying for NMA-North ($90, $100, $110) and finally $120 was accepted for Hotel Felix (2 rooms). I did use the PRICELINE link. I don't mind the location - I think it's great. Few blocks west of Mag Mile. But, reviews I've read indicate the rooms are quite small. So, I'm a little worried about that since we have 4 (potentially 5 people). I'm going to have to call the hotel to see if they even have rollaway beds. :)
  7. I used the PRICELINE link to bid for a 2* hotel in New Buffalo and wanted the Fairfield Inn, which has a regular price for that time of $99/night. I saw the historical 1-2 year old ones go for $33. Had a brain freeze and went in with $40 as the starting bid, when I probably should have started lower at $30. Kind of beating myself up for that (I feel like I overpaid...:)). Oh well, $40 is $59 less than the street price. I guess I'll live. :)
