  1. I saw that Priceline had a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for a 3.5* hotel in downtown north for $73/night. Tried $55 with no luck, then tried $60 unsuccessfully, but got then got the Delta Chelsea for $65. I've stayed there a couple of times before, so I know I'll be getting a good deal for my money.
  2. Tried $40 optimistically, then $50 and $55. At $55, was offered a hotel if I raise price to $74. Declined and tried $65, with success. I'm happy with the price, especially considering the length of my stay. I had been hearing that hotels were pretty booked up due to 2 major women's hockey tournaments going on around that time (one of them is the reason I'm going to Ottawa). Looking forward to my trip.
  3. So I tried bidding again on Priceline. I added Dowtown North and went down to 3.5* and I got the Delta Chelsea for $93 (first bid of $90 was rejected). It's a bit more than I had hoped, but overall I'm happy with the result. Thanks for the help!
  4. Thanks for the advice. I was looking at that hotel on Hotwire a bit earlier. I'm kind of tempted to go for it, but I'd also like to see if I can do better than that. Any guesses on what 3.5* for $102 on Hotwire is? Amenities: non-smoking, fitness centre, pool(s), restaurant(s), business center & high-speed internet. Should I post a new thread in the Hotwire forum?
  5. I made several unsuccesful attempts at bidding for a 4* hotel in downtown Toronto today (using this site's link). I started bidding at $70 and went up to $90, adding rebid zones each time. I'd be willing to go down to 3.5* and I'd also be willing to stay in downtown north. I'd prefer downtown south, and I'd rather not pay more than $90, but I can go up to ~$100 if necessary. Should I just wait it out and hope they start accepting some lower bids soon? Thanks.
  6. I'm a Canadian university student and I'm hoping to do some travelling this summer (within Canada). However, I don't have a credit card. I've looked into getting a prepaid credit card, specifically BMO's prepaid Mastercard. I've heard that some hotels don't accept prepaid credit cards, does PRICELINE? If so, are there any foreseeable issues with going that route? My parents would let me use their credit card, but I assume there could be an issue with that because my name isn't on their card. I'd also just prefer to not have to go through them if it's avoidable. Any and all help is appreciated.
